My dog Penny loves her talking buttons, but to use them properly we do need to train on the regularly. It’s always amazing how many people know she isn’t actually talking to me, but don’t realize she’s trained to use the buttons. The talking buttons are an excellent enrichment activity that helps a smart dog burn mental energy. Training helps build a bond between the animal and the person, and training helps create a sense of purpose. These dogs are much less anxious and when there are focused activities, there is less boredom which helps with destructive behavior.
