Baby Chicks Are Furry Until They Grow Feathers

At our home compound in the countryside, we have dogs, cats, lovebirds, and chickens. We raise chickens primarily for their eggs. A couple of weeks ago a mother hen started using the box of our backyard cats as her nest. Poor cats. They couldn’t use the box to sleep in at night because of the mother hen. So to discourage the hen from using the box, i kept taking an egg everyday. But i stopped when i left for a short vacation. When i returned, there were 6 eggs. I didn’t get the eggs anymore to let the hen have her chicks. Incidentally my ex-rescue kitten Ficus was also curious about the eggs and the nest.
