  1. Ah, yes. I remember this "stare" too. I used to feed my cats at 5:00pm every day. I have a "bird clock" that gives the sounds of different birds each hour on the hour. My cats would come to the center of the living room a few minutes early, sit and just stare at me … somewhat patiently. When the 5pm bird "sounded" they would vanish in the blink of an eye and I could hear them re-materialize in the kitchen checking their bowls. If (or, rather, when) I was too slow getting up from my easy chair, they'd come marching back into the living room, sit in "their" spots in the middle of the floor and glare at me until I got the message. The difference between their stare and their glare was subtle but the glare was ,somehow, extreme in its intensity. I never could describe exactly what the difference was, but it was very recognizable.

  2. One of my friend's cats is less subtle…she learned about six months ago to stick a paw in the automated feeder's bowl, and to tap with her claws out…her backup plan is to meow at me, and rub up against my leg, something she would never do given how anti social she is…first time she did it, we thought she had finally learned to be friendly…nope…just was starving to death, for the third time that day…😁

  3. My sweet Gracie pooh pooh rad taps me three times on my arm.
She stands up if I'm in a chair, tap me three times and I know what that means dinner time.❤💕🐈
