BITE FORCE:
With the facts we have, only 3 domestic dogs i.e a German Shepherd, American Pitbull Terrier – APBT and the Rottweilers bite strength were officially measured using a bite sleeve test, equipped with a specialised computer instrument by Dr.Brady Barr of National Geographic in his show Dangerous Encounters: Bite Force, dtd 8/18/2005. We couldn’t verify the bite strength of Doberman and Rhodesian Ridgeback from any official body. So we have considered the unverified data available on the net for comparison.

  1. The exact dog bite force exerted is difficult to determine, and is not known scientifically, despite what an expert might claim.

Certainly, there are many anecdotal websites peddling false information about the bite force of dogs. We believe dogs with oversized jaw muscles should exert more pressure when they bite because an animal’s bite force is largely determined by the size of the jaw muscles. However, apart from the jaw muscles many other variables affect the force with which a dog will bite i.e the dog’s motivation at the time of attack, skull morphology, mental conditions, the size of the teeth, past training and experience and the list goes on.

Moreover, Dogs also bite different objects with different amounts of force thus making conclusions about the likely bite force in a breed will always be problematic. Period.

For this very reason, we always mention the bite force assumption in our video description stating that “We couldn’t authenticate the Bite Force of the dogs from any official body, so we had considered the unverified data available on the net for comparison. “ In addition to it, we even put an “unverified data” remark on the main screen of the video to inform our viewers who don’t read the video description.

  2. Your robot voice has clearly never had to to throw your Ridgeback to the ground when he’s barking at people. Also, My wife had a friend who’s had a RR who lived to 30 years….end, through your stats and dumbness, your wrong

  3. ridgebacks weigh more than 36 kilos my ridgeback is 8 months and already weighs more than 42 kilos

  4. Wtf a rodesean weigh Up to 45 kg have a bigger bark Harder bite run faster for longer time you are a amature (sorry for my bad english)

  5. Basically everything in this video but opposite because ridgebacks are buy far much larger more intimidating dogs there barks are much deeper and louder…. because there much larger vs the more lil yappie dog style bark of Doberman I have a 10month old ridgeback male ATM and when he was 8months old we took him to a dog park that had a 2year old male undexed Doberman and my 8month old boy towered over him and looked a good 10+kgs heavier then Doberman lol maybe because my boys nuts are twice the size of the Dobermans 🤣🤣

  6. I don't get some of the criteria , loud bark n how fast it can run is irrelevant. Greyhound is the fastest dog but not a guard dog.pitbull has a squeaky bark but it's dangerous as a guard dog. Most of the barking is friendly in a garden not barking at a intruder. To my ears ridgeback had a deeper bark.

  7. Sorry to say but i disagree with a few things said in your video. Intimidation might be equal but i think the ridgeback pulls slightly ahead. The bark hands down goes to the ridgeback! Bite force may be equal. Both are equal good guard dogs. As a owner of a few dogs I must say i totally love my Ridgeback!!!
