      I love my Neopolitan Mastiff and his wrinkle cleaning isn't a big chore. Also as long as you keep them on the lean size they can move just like any other breed

      I got an Alabai-mix. Not by choice exactly, adopted as a small pup. Mixed with Carpathian shepherd and Burcovina dog. He's a good boy, but a unit.Yes, a little Caucasian Ovcharka in there too. But he's only 90 pounds at 8 months, so not too bad.

      Considering what my dobie can do, I can't imagine the strength and power of a 200lb dog. I mean, if he isn't dragging you down the road, it's because he decided not to.
      We underestimate dogs. Their muscle is like 3x's stronger than our own and they are much tougher. There's some youtubers who uses greyhounds to hunt coyotes. Those dainty looking sweet heart couch potatos can be brutal.

They're good dogs, but they're not for every apartment, let alone every house, even with a private yard. That's not to say that it WILL BE CONVENIENT in every COUNTRY, that's another thing

      And they don’t like “normal” Alabai dogs because “normal” dogs are now like Caucasian Shepherds, but they should be active, they were a little more compact… ehhh well, not 90-100 kg 101 cm. 70-80 67-79 and the weight is more precise60-80

      I’ve had American Bulldogs, boxer, bulldog, dingo cross- in Idaho, pug, German shepherd. Bloodhound. Bloodhound by far the hardest. Extreme power, not advertised much. Super smart , so thinks he knows better all the time. 135 lbs or more. Bite is far stronger then advertised, DuckDuckGo has best descriptions. IS Protective- flat out dangerous to criminals. Most aggressive dog I’ve had. Likes everything else. One bully he didn’t- by far more aggressive. But wouldn’t sell for any amount. ❤

      I own a Great Dane and I love him. He is well-controlled and I have trained him on a prong collar. He goes into his kennel whenever I ask him to and even when I don't ask him to.

      Man I miss my Neo Loki. Wanted one since the early 80s when my dad got me a dog world magazine subscription and I saw them in the rare breed section. Was a pre-vet major at Michigan State University until I left like an idiot and joined the Army to travel because at 18, 8yrs of school sounded like 8 decades unlike now at 48yrs old and 8yrs sounds like 8 weeks 😂 but back to Loki. He was OUTSTANDING! I grew up with big dogs and he was actually very easy to train. NATURALLY SUPER PROTECTIVE! But not in a Fila way. I could have friends and family by. But once my daughters who were 8 and 9 at the time were wrestling around with their friends in the back yard and Loki broke thru the sliding glass back patio door and tried to get the big girl who was wrestling with my daughters. I told them and my wife to NEVER have him around when the kids were rough housing because HE WONT KNOW THE DIFFERENCE! Got a call at work that Loki had but the girl and pinned her to the ground before my kids and my ex wife got him off. By the grace of God he barely broke the skin but he was in dog jail for a week while they were deciding whether to put him down. Man I had character witnesses and a few friends who actually showed up to testify how he was a great dog had NEVER bitten anybody etc etc.. Thankfully I got him back and no charges were pressed I just paid the families doctor bill. But he lived to be 13 which was a testament to his breeding and the love and care he got from us. He did not stink because I washed him like I did my other dogs. After eating I wiped his mouth with a damp cloth and then a dry one. SIMPLE! Only thing was THAT DAMN DROOLING 😂! I could be just about to go to work or dressed in nice clothes about to go out and you had to watch out because he was almost a Velcro dog and you had to hold him at arms length to make sure no drool was caught in his jowals or you would spend t minutes cleaning your pants 😂! And he wished he was 10lbs so he could lay on your damn lap all of the time. Other than that, as long as you get one from a good breeder who breeds for function and not just how massive they can breed them to be along with MASSIVE amounts of wrinkles THEY ARE OUTSTANDING DOGS!!!! LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU LOKI!!!!

      I was at the vets to get shots for my pup a couple years ago. A young lady walked in with a great dane. She was early 20s and coudn't have weighed 90 pounds and she was wearing slick bottom cowboy boots. Her dog went after another dog in the waiting room simply dragging her across the floor like she wasn't even there. My point is if you can't physically control your dog if the need arises, you don't need to have that dog.

      Used to have a pair of Irish Wolfhounds, great affectionate dogs. We had a fair bit of land and they would patrol it rigorously. They just don't live very long, one died at 6 and the other at 8, which apparently is quite old for the breed. Just had adopted greyhounds and labs since. Have a friend who breeds Dogue De Bourdeux's, he had a pup that won at Crufts, pretty intimidating dogs. Was thinking about a Boerboel – absolute beasts

      I've had 4 Central Asian shepherds. You are completely wrong about them eating their owners. They are flock guardians and if you don't have a flock they treat you as one. Meaning they will protect you and your family with their life. But, they are not a city dog. I live on 10 acres in the mountains and they keep all of the bears and mountain lions away. They're great! On top of that, for a large dog the average lifespan is 12-15 years. My female is 14 right now and still chasing bears.

      Actually, Alabai in Turkmenistan have around 65 kg…if you want to fight a wolf you dont need a dog over 100 kg…he is to slow and lose a lot of power on that weight. Kangals are also around 65 kg…

      I have a dane. He is very loving. He lives with my Rottweiler, cane corso mix, french mastiff mix. Yes we all exist in harmony. No fighting, no issues. Besides my dane, all my other dogs are rescues. I have an amazing pack😊

      If you want a large strong guardian dog that's fairly easy to train and doesn't have many health issues you should consider the Bucovina Shepherd. Large males can reach 200 pounds (though the average is around 150) and they're strong enough to kill a wolf or stand their ground against a brown bear, yet relatively docile towards humans (when properly raised of course), they bark and growl a lot but won't actually attack a person unless he/she is obviously threatening or harming the owner.

      1. Alabai/ Ovcharka / Kangal they are temparement wise pretty similar.
      2. Boerboel
      3. Irish wolfhound
      4. Great Dane
      5. Dogo Argentino (if considered a large breed)
