The great Pyeraness ( sorry I can’t spell). Tends to be a runner. They covered so much territory guarding sheep in the mountains, then tend to want to cover a distance every day. But I totally love the breed. Wonderful breed.
Dogo Argentinian would be my choice because I live in a hot climate. I read an interesting article about this breed. Years ago. The man who developed the breed lived in a very wild area. His grand daughters were outside playing a distance from the house. And a mountain lion. Or puma got too close and the dog fought off a full grown big cat. The dog almost died protecting the children. But also killed the big cat. I’m very impressed by this breed. But all of these breeds are beautiful and valuable. I just love big breeds.

Irish Wolfhound & Great Dane
I have 2 Great Pyrenees, a brother and sister. They great everyone with a smile and a wagging tail. How ever the male will come and stand sideways in front of me leaning on my legs. He is friendly but he makes sure I am safe, just in case. They have never tried to hurt any of the other animals and get along with my grandkids really well. I love them.
You forgot Scottish Deerhounds and Otterhounds.
