      This dog is my dream. And just yesterday I saw a post that a 3 yo male rottweiler was given for adoption. And I immediately started to have doubts. Yeah, in the post they say that he's exceptionally well-behaved, non aggressive etc. But I've had a Labrador. An alpha male, but still a Labrador. I've had him since he was 3 months old and till I had to let him go at 15 yo due to a cancer. I know how to deal with big dogs. I've watched tonnes of videos etc. But still…. A 3 yo male rottweiler… And still…. A dream…

      My rottie was a pure german breed , but his personality was so amazing he was always calm and used the stare down without any sounds wich kan be even scarier cause a dog that barks is cleqrly showing that he is not secure.. but my rottie just looked at you in a stare making you insecure will he bite or not? 😂
      Same with other dogs they could be barking at him he would just stare at them calmly. Sucha amazing personality ive heard that rotties are like that but i wonder if it depends on whhere in the world i live in europe dunno if the american rottie has diffrent pwrsonalities

      I love Rotties, have always wanted to have one some day and I genuinely believe they are amazing dogs and that they could be a pretty good fit for me in overall personality, but I've come to accept that I shouldn't have one of them precisely bc of what you say: they're just too big for me, an average Rottie is just shy of my own weight, and I already need to work out for a pittie mix. Not to mention there are a lot of strays and dogs that are let out on their own where I live, I would be perpetually scared of the Rottie's reaction if one of them got territorial and came running at us. I'll appreciate them from afar and always say hi to the Rottie that lives down the street when I walk by with my girlie ❤

      In Europe we're not docking tails or ears cause we love our pets as they are, we don't need to cut anything because "he's prettier without his tail" (plus it's illegal since 20 years – considered as abuse)

      I adopted a lab rott. Mix that was abandoned. I loved him so much. He was the biggest goof ball, not an aggressive bone in him. But he was protective. He died 3 1/2 months ago. I miss him so much

      Cutting tails or ears is considered as cruelty towards animals and forbidden in Germany. These animals can’t participate in dog shows and you can’t get official papers if you breed them…

      Every Rotwiller video I watch completely avoids the subject of the "Rottie Rumble" when I watch the videos of people taking their dogs toy or nail clipping and the Rottweiler jumps up growling up to their face for me that's completely unacceptable… But people in the comments are usually like "oh it's just a Rottie Rumble" I don't want a dog that I need to rumble with lol… but the way the breed is described in this video completely contradicts what I see online

      It is insane to see an american not even really understanding why docking isn't a thing here. Many american traditions are detestable, also that cats just get declawed if their owner says so. Disgusting

      I’ve got three now six total my first three started with one I bought a female. My mom told me to experience breeding at least once in my life because my mom used to breed Pomeranians. I found a big male for my 95 pound female and there it started my male got to be 168 pounds. My female was a large 140lbs they were massive sadly my male lasted five years they said essentially liver cancer, my female six we think it was spinal she hurt her spine the mother 13yrs I went on to get my next three my males both are a 130lbs and a 140lbs my female 90lbs the three I have now are much and more healthier than the two of the three I started with. I don’t see me owning another breed if I do own, another breed, it will be addition to my Rotties

      In my 40s and have only ever owned Rottweilers. They have been amazing family dogs and great protectors eager to please easy to train if you get them young. The biggest suggestion I would make is socializing really well. I take my puppies to the park and let the kids pull on their ears and play with them and they’ve never had a problem with anybody. If you love a big snuggly dog, the Rottweiler is absolutely for you. They cannot be in the same room as me without touching me.

      My first ever dog was a rottweiler after i got scammed with getting a golden retriever ($5000) gone. When i first saw him he was huge and intimidating for a 2 year old rotty but nonetheless he was perfect for me and my family.

      Had a mate that had a 10st lad, he did not like people getting into the van that went to work with his dad, he was a gentleman with the ladies, first rottie I’d ever met & when his dad used to go away for work I’d look after him & that lad came to work with me every day, so gentle with my elderly clients & kids, polite to the lads that got into my van & followed me like a puppy when his dad was away or we were out at work together.
      Even though he didn’t like men when he was with his dad I have to say I’ve never met another rottie like him since. Big soppy lad that loves rough & tumbles with me. Am very tempted to have one bc of their nature, just not an awful lot of good breeders & always make sure I do my homework when getting my dogs. Have spanners myself but if you do find a decent breeder, I highly recommend a rottie. Wonderful dogs.

      I've had rottweiellers. Pit bulls and doberman's. It's all in the way you raise them. It's much like your children. Socializing is a must. You can make them jerks or you can make them gentle puppy dogs.

      So I'm located in south africa
      I'm thinking of starting a small business like this
      As I do have some experience with dogs and training. Also my business partner has alot of experience in this line.
      I want to help out the community, training dogs and train their handlers how to actually work with them,
      I feel like alot of bad things happen because owners don't really know how to work with their dogs and they don't know how to read their dogs behavior.

      I hot my rot when he was 3 yrs old . He was beaten by 1st owner and starved by 2nd. He had no training but listened to me wonderfully. Did great with my kids and their friends as long as we were home. My dsughter git a maltese and b4 she was sllowed outside if she got out my tot would pi k her up on top of his nose and put her back in the house. When she was allowed out and someone would walk by house she would run to fence and bark. My tot would stay right behind her. People would run put into the street. She turned around like she was the badest bad around. He lived to be 16. I miss him everydsy.

      The Rottweiler is an amazing breed, an extremely gentle and lovable dog if you train it well. I got mine during the pandemic. I was working full-time from home, and he became an extension of me as I was home all the time. Recently, I started going to work, and when I come back home, he pees in all the places I sit: my desk, my bed, my couch. He is not alone at home, and he is walked multiple times a day. It's like when I'm gone, he marks all the areas, and this has created serious health issues and family problems. I checked his health; he is perfectly healthy, but this issue is a showstopper. We have been tolerating it for a year, but now I have to make a hard choice: either him or my wife.
      I tried training him, it's just we need to catch him in the moment when he does it and obviously I am not at home that time and my wife looking after our special need son.
      I owned many dogs but I never experience this issue before. And no way I would lock him in a crate for 9 hours, thats just brutal for auch large dog.

      I had one named Zack back in the 90s. I lived and worked in Hollywood, and Zack went everywhere with me. He was a local celebrity and major babe magnet. He was huge and intimidating looking, but really was just a massive, well behaved puppy. And he helped this one girl get over her fear of dogs. After a few weeks they were besties. Rottweilers might be the most naturally obedient dog, and not always driven by food. They love hugs just as much.
