  1. I can only judge on the Rottweiler as it is the only dogs i ever ownd and breeded with. Cant stress enough how important early socializing is. There is absolutely no reason to lack in this department. They do not need any agression to be the guard dog you want, even the most social rottweiler will protect iits family in any situation without any training. Had 4 females 2 very dominant 2 absolutely not dominant. But i saw my 9 year old not at all dominant female protect my toddler vs a very dominant rottweiler. She always avooided any confronatation even when another dog would bite her for 9 years i taught she didnt have it in her till that one day. Before the dominant rottie could do anything the old lady grabbed her and i had to get her off with brute force, she would have killed the dominant rottie. Also good information about the rottweiler you are spot on!

  2. hahaha this so wrong i had both breeds and the cane corso is a dummy compared to the Rottwieler , its not even close the rotties are smarter then most people lol

  3. It's worth noting that neither of these breeds are covered under most traditional insurances. I am not sure if they were covered under any specialty insurance either. Both breeds are on the vicious breed list unfortunately

  4. It depends on what you want in a dog. I have a Corso and can say everything the rottie owners in this comment section can say.

My corso is AMAZING with the family and children but apprehensive of strangers.

The rottie is a working/Herding breed , the Corso is a bred guardian. The corso is a purpose-bred dog that was used for frontline combat during the Roman era. The rottie is totally capable of protecting you and your family but with bite-work training and not with anywhere near the same intensity or natural guarding instincts as a Corso. You can have your preference but facts are facts. The corso is equally or more athletic than the rottie, especially when considering the corsos size and boasts a much, MUCH stronger bite force, 700+ PSI, second only to the Kangal.

Full circle… it depends on what you are needing from a dog and which breed fits your lifestyle.

The Corso does not need to be trained or taught to attack an intruder… they will do it without a second of hesitation. They WILL bite you and they WILL damage you. They are NOT for beginner or even intermediate dog owners.

I have had both breeds … i would say the rottie is a better overall family breed, the corso is bar none the better guardian.

  5. I had a rottie/lab mix. That dog was 6 to 8 months old. It slammed and attacked an adult wolf dog that was walking on our property. We had 25 achers. He was shorter but had a good bite. The neighbor jerk used to use it as a show of force. When we kids were at our Creek area catching bait fish.

  7. I don't understand why everyone. Thinks rotties are so abd. They aren't . And pund for pound the cane Corso will take it down .don't care anyone that disagrees. Cane Corso hands down

  8. The world is the same way to be in the animal bed with the world and the vet in Paul zoo tomorrow morning is the best thing I can do to hear from the animal shelter and the animal shelter and I will
