Newfoundland dog shows dog on TV how to howl properly
Doesn’t take much to get a Newfoundland howling, they have a tendency to out-bark or out-howl just about any dog or other barky/howly creature. This one is no different, he has a truly magnificent voice and he knows how to use it! It’s a joy listening to him flexing those vocal chords.
The Newfoundland is a large breed of working dog. They can be black, grey, brown, or black and white. In Newfoundland, before it became part of Canada, only black and Landseer (white-and-black) coloured dogs were considered to be proper members of the breed. They were originally bred and used as working dogs for fishermen in Newfoundland and excel at water rescue/lifesaving because of their muscular build, thick double coat, webbed paws, and swimming abilities. Males normally weigh 65–80 kg (143–176 lb), and females 55–65 kg (121–143 lb). They are often referred to as “Newfie”/”Newfy”/”Newf” but I just discovered it has a history of being used as a derogatory term for the people of Newfoundland. Shame really, I think it sounds endearing. Typical humans, I guess.
