It’s been a long time since we produced anything we could consider an “Olympic Farm/Ranch dog”, but this is close enough to wear that moniker. I didn’t announce earlier because I wasn’t sure it happened, I gave them very little time together, but it seems Bignanigans got it done. And so I only announced it a week after they were born.
It’s not a pure livestock guarding cross, as there is a pinch of prey drive in there in the dogo/dane, but I believe the abundance of LGD proper and lower prey drive of the Boerboel, will produce a dog good with stock if conditioned early enough.

Those not familiar with the program should visit the website proper for more info

June 9th 2024 hi hi hi these are big nanigans and big bone pffs there big bone big bone come here yeah yeah you want my attention are these guys about five weeks now I think they’re leaving the first weekend in um July that guy’s super outgoing yeah the black one he does he’s he he’s usually the first one to greet me too the percentages on these oh it’ll be in the description and on the website it’s a lot of Boral and a lot of livestock Guardian these are what we call a Farm and Ranch Dog these dogs should be good with stock they also guard your family but they will be less independent than a pure livestyle Guardian by a lot most people really don’t need that level of independ dependence um you just need something that won’t kill your stock and will naturally get all over anything else that might and they’re more versatile that way more obedient more biddable more trainable so pure lifestyle Guardians evolved in a time in place where really had very little to do with people they had to go stock so you didn’t want them to be very people Centric most people don’t have thousands of acres and thousands of head so there’s downsides to Independence for sure if you don’t need it you don’t want it really well maybe you do maybe you want a dog that’s not needy doesn’t necessarily get up when you come home Etc these guys are looking good they’re very leggy compared to the others they’re just a week old thean tritto pups that litter was not supposed to have happened here so now I’ve got two litters at the same time more or less week apart this is good visuals I wish I had another helper I’d have the other helper go let big nanigans in or if I could edit I could just press stop and come back even with the most fundamental editing but take one entertainment we don’t edit because editing is for and I can’t be bothered to learn how both of those factors all right that’s a good visual it’s hard to let me one of those is level to be our thumbnail all right go get go get big nanigans just to spice this video up we’re going to let him desire you’ll see he’s built differently than big bone here he is one quarter Congo one quarter Boral one quarter Central Asian Shepherd and one quarter Turkish Malak a Turkish Malaki for those who do not know is kind of congal uh but a little more mive in it you might call it the Turkish version of a Congo Boral really they’re big they’re huge and they do use a more for uh guarding people and property and such things guess she showed him what’s up she just hit him hard yeah hello to me I have a big bone damn she just did you see that she put a hit on him like a football player she just rolled him right over so I should have been expecting that to happen he’s taking it well so she’s not sure she wants some around the food or the puppies but it will spice up our video yeah you’re good you’re good you’re sweetheart you’re taking that like a gentleman he didn’t he didn’t let it he didn’t let it piss him off he said these are still my babies yes you’re a technically speaking and actually your attitude’s a little rough look at those puppies I think he’s like his mother bigan is his mother if bigan was out right now she’d be by this gate hovering but she’s put up but he just he likes puppies like his mom you see how tall he is he’s definitely 30 plus at the shoulders you’re going to be right in the middle of that you better get up better get up he’s he’s handling it gracefully you’re going to push your luck Big Bone he’s going to show you what’s up see he’s good nature he’s just trying to say hi to everybody and she’s being a well I mean a sorry what do you think about that that’s crazy huh what do you think about that your parents that’s a that’s domestic dispute there stay away from that yeah yes you’re good you’re a good boy yeah he’s a sweet dog sweet dog lot like his mom very sweet very sensitive uh Handler sensitive can’t edit that out when you don’t edit you you make a verbal slip it’s just there yeah so these guys I think I already said it he’s not even really phased by here I don’t know if she’s protecting the food or the puppies she’s over the top though is there is there nobody in the shop pen right now I can’t remember either I think biggan is in the big is put up we could put this grumpy out out just let her out there she’ll go cuz the puppies are kind of freaked out by all this violence I’m G to put her out big I mean big bone big bone come here come here come here come on you’re sure big yeah I’m sure come here big bone come on let’s go come on Big B let’s go yeah yeah you’re [Applause] grumpy yeah yeah that’s yeah it’s the weekend time for you to see your kids yeah yeah he’s good with them see I should just start letting him be in this pen with her full time she’ll get over that he’s a very sweet guy I my theory is this on lifestyle Guardians because they’ll nurture almost anything that you raise them with it’s not like oh they only protect sheep or goats or whatever whatever they’ll anything you raise them with they’ll they’ll take care of and I think it’s just an abundance of whatever instincts kick in that make parental instincts basically and even the males have it they can be quite nurturing because it’s amazing actually the instincts that they have compared to say a dogo or something that sees a young goat and just wants to eat it they see something young vulnerable they want to protect it you see very good with the puppies there’re sense around people too like a Mastiff even if a Mastiff is happy to see a toddler they’ll often times knock them down just being insensitive trying to lick them or whatever but these livestock Guardians when they see a toddler they instinctively know that they’re delicate that they they got to be gentle around them it’s another level of intellig Ence or awareness or something he’s he’s hasn’t been here much he’s curious about all this that’s where the puppies live whoa that’s nine minutes well that’s a bit much hopefully that wasn’t too D they’re freaked out they’re freaked out by all this going on maybe that’s not a good thing oh well I this www. Olympic dogs. net for those who maybe just stumbled here please visit the website there’s a lot to know and that’s a good place to start and that’s it
