When I bought my American Doberman I started with 5k in cash…… my Doberman was 1200 I got him down to 1k I got the ears cropped (465 extra) my 1st vet visit was about 200 food was 50 bucks toys 20 bucks other dog stuff 50 and as for insurance it was going to cost me 58 a month so I did not buy it I still have 3k put a side for my Doberman,,,I self insured my Doberman meaning instead of giving it to an insurance company 58 a month I started with 3k and I still have the 3k for him later in life, he is 3 now,..my cousin has a Goldendoodle and he is 5 and a year ago she had to take him to the vet for an emergency operation intestine problem; her cost 600 she had to borrow it no insurance….if one can I would say put 60 bucks a month away for your dog like in a Christmas Club and at the end of the year roll it over and do it again after year one you will have 720 and at the end of year 3 you will have 2160 IF you have not used it…remember this is not for yearly vet bills….be careful when buying insurance they might not cover everything.
When i got mine for free:o
I know too many idiots in ENGLAND😓😓😓😓😓😈😓😓😀😈😈😈😈🤮😈
Not sure if that's a regional thing, but I'm some places they are going to charge you extra in liability insurance for dogs. Breeds like Doberman get the highest fees.
I came for the show of burning money lol….
Actually I bought a pair of European doberman puppies in the Philippines and it cost $400 female and $360 male they were registered yo PCCI
Kids cost more! Im ahead and i have 5dogs!
I pray that you didn’t really let that money burn 😔😒
Never spend that much money a month on my dogs lmao
This video is 3 years old
Now. I have contacted three reputable breeders with show quality puppies that come from CH parents and fully health tested . They are running 4-5 k including ear cropping
Cant even get one from Russia or Ukraine now 😭
Man this is true I have two .. I try to really budget myself I have a family vet but yeah u do waste so much money
The cost of a Doberman puppy is just the tip of the iceberg. I love my Dobie like one of my kids – it just cost me more. Allergy medicine, special diet , indestructible toys that last minutes , special shampoo, frequent collar replacement due to chewing , vet bills due to eating stuff not meant for eating. Can’t go on vacation because she is too sensitive to be kenneled, and too intimidating for me with no local family to get her watched at home. Still wouldn’t trade her for the world.
As I comb through the comments after watching the video (which was very informative), I am amazed by some people being able to find wonderful, healthy Doberman pups within the costs of $1500 to $2500. I must be looking in the wrong places and breeders. I’m seeing pups for $4000 to $7000! Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
The mindset should be.. love your doberman may it be pure breed or mixed.. the dog doesn't discriminate.. why should people do??
I legit paid nothing for my dobie except food, toys and time. I did a job for a wealthy lady who bred quality dobermans. She had 2 pups left. As i was finishing up the job, she asked me if I wanted a pup. I told her i couldn't afford one and she said, "No, as a gift". I still didn't want the pup, but she insisted and i just couldn't say no to that lady. She was really nice. She liked me for some reason. Anyways, the tail and ears had already been cropped and all the shots. The pup was 8 weeks old and i named her Sheba. Never a vet visit. Some ppl may look down on that, but I'm old school. My Sheba was never sick and lived 12 – 1/2 years. She passed away in 2019. Sheba was my best friend. We did everything together. She loved the car, parks, lakes, trails and especially her tennis ball. The dog i didn't want turned out to be the greatest gift anyone has ever given me. I guess i was just lucky.
I have never seen a breeder take a credit card. Is that something that actually happens
Fun, engaging, and informative video. Those are absolute minimum costs, yes. In return, you are getting yourself on a loving and unforgettable adventure
A lot of shelters do vaccine clinics for wayyyyyyyyyyyy cheaper like less than $100
I bought my European Doberman outside Paris at the breeder « Of devil inside ». Their dogs live long healthy lives and have won tons of awards. She was 2500 euros but the main cost have been the shoes and dog toys she’s chewed up 😂. We love our Velcro dog to bits ❤
Hey Doberman Planet!
Do you think these estimations reflect todays economy?
I’m talking to some reputable breeders in the NW and in the South, and I’m getting back anywhere between 3,400-5,500 for a female with a contract.
How could this be?
Dam what world do you live in I respect most of your videos but this one is worth less full of shit on this one
Why not just buy 1 from Germany, how much would that cost ???
I would of used fake money
My belief sir. Dobies are your personality if u an she or he are alike we get dobies cause they define us real talk. They are so velcro pups. U hate an feel guilty when u r away from of tthem, I have all a Dobie needs inside my house. The very visit is rediculoys an trusting one. U get a Dobie its a TRUE GOD BLESSING
I’m watching this three years later, 11 years ago I paid four hundred dollars for my first Doberman, Ruger today I’m going to pick up my new baby boy! He is mixed American with strong European roots, he has the boxy European head, he’s AKC registered and I’m getting a good deal, here in the South most AKC Dobermans from a real breeder cost anywhere from $3-7 thousand dollars, little man was the runt, {Last puppy born}. And his mommy stepped on his toe nail pulling it out, it has since grown back but it’s tiny and the breeder said, the Vet told her it wouldn’t ever grow back like his other nails? He would always have one tiny toe nail, I’m not sure why this is bad but because of it she sold me the puppy for $22 hundred dollars instead of three thousand 🤔. I’ve seen multiple videos of him running and playing so I guess it’s a show dog issue, she said I wouldn’t be able to show him with one tiny toenail? Can you please tell me if this is problematic for my puppy later on in life? I’m okay with not showing him, Thank you so much ❤ ohh his ears are cropped and I can’t find a local vet who will wrap them, is it hard for me too do myself?
My puppy is coming home next tuesday! I am so excited. Her dads coat is very coarse and I wondered if that is because they are different from poland ? i am use to a short shiny coat. I thought also might be what she feeds. She is an excellent breeder though I would say A+ on all the checklist of how a good breeder is..
cost $270 a month when they get addisons….. lol
