This is a video about the dog breed SBT from the www.naturallyhappydogs.com website.
Staffy owner, Rebecca Hayter-Gare has had staffies from childhood. Staffies are little powerhouses, a medium size dog, bursting with energy, good at agility and generally fit and healthy. Rebecca describes why they are easy to look after and offers helpful advice to would-be Staffy owners.
Staffies were originally bred for bull baiting and, like most terriers, make good ratters too. They might not always be the most obedient of dogs but Rebecca appreciates the Staffy love of and loyalty toward people and children – describing their devotion as like “velcro”.
Rebecca talks us through some of the health problems that Staffords can suffer from, another to add to her list is L-2-HGA which is quite significant in the breed.

I'm not a big fan of 30min walks. But that's bc I actually like going for walks. We take hour and a half to two hour walks. Also we walk at night so it's much more calmer environment
Indeed very loving pets
Awesome review of the dog, and very true 👌
Such a pity they get a bad reputation in the wrong hands of ownership. Brought up in a family environment they are a very gentle loving loyal dog 👌
Staffies are ugly! I like the AmStaff better!
Awsome vid, awesome dogs.My little guy is 4 months old. he's the best dog I've owned. He does what ever I do. If i'm laying around on the couch, so is he. If i'm walking around the house, so is he. he's already walking on a leash by my side like a pro with minimal training and very little correction needed. he plays with all the dogs at the dog park but 1 thing I have noticed is he tries to dominate the other dogs big or small. i'm trying to get that out of him but not sure if I can tho.
If you want to get a staff then be prepared for the overwhelming amount of love and loyalness that you will be bombarded with. Some people may actually find them too clingy but that depends on how you raise them as puppies. But i must admit that it is hard to reject them and be strict when they are pining for your love and attention.

Great, accurate, lovely video. Thank you.
Thank you our boy is 12wk old blue staffie hes fantastic the vlog is excellent
The PitBull came from a bulldog and a Terrier and are called American Staffordshire Terrier, dont trust every youtube video theres alot of bad information. In Canada Ontario we refer pitbulls as American Staffordshire Terriers. Stop saying any dog can be a pitbull thats Complete Bullshit.
A great dog' a great pet' a very bad gaurd dog'.
I love Staffordshire Bull terrier
To add it the owners not the dog who makes them aggressive
Staffies are more than a dog there a friend for life……… If I wanted to get another staff I would defo get one from a shelter theres plenty of good guys in there waiting for a second chance 🐶 🐾
Best dogs ever
I lost my Staffy 3 weeks ago to cancer and I miss her so much. Such a beautiful girl who has always by side.
Staffies are the best dogs in the world. End of.
I rescued my female staffy she lived on the streets for a year now she has a home and familly and a blue nose to love i really love my stella dog
Gods gift to us all
Wonderfully done video. Very informative. Without coming across as being commercial or pandering. I found that what was said to be spot on. As I have had staffs and pits now for over 20 years. Got to love them once you have had one. And if the dogs was not a totally traumatised by previous human owner. Thank you for putting this video together.
Sbt's were not bred to fight bulls, that was the job of the bulldog. They were bred to fight other dogs (and rats and badgers), that's why most of them don't like other dogs. It's not 'how you raise them', you cannot deny their heritage. Still they are great dogs if you know what you got yourself into
Reading some of these comments make me laugh. Especially since I’ve studied dogs as a species. I own a Staffy, I’m the boss and he knows it, how I know that is when he does something that he knows is wrong he’ll avoid any confrontation and put his head down and have body language displaying guilt, he thinks I’ll give in. Then I tell him off and put him in his cage. Sometimes he refuses that’s when he gets nasty but the punishment is then he stays there for an hour or so if he goes straight in there, I let him out after 10 or so minutes
My Staffy knew a family member died and my kids were very upset the dog never left there side for weeks he could tell there emotions very very loyal dog
one of your dogs is grossly overweight. very unhealthy
I just got my 1st Staffy. Just a baby. She's 6 weeks old. Very happy with all you had to say about the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. I've been researching the breed way before I decided to get her. And my 6 year old daughter loves her Roxy. That's what we named her.
Best loyal breed 😎
Never had a dog before but I really love to have one. I have 3 children age 8-11 and I've done loads of research on dogs. The staffy seems to be my favourite, so hopefully it will fit in with my family.
Loved this video
But I would say that Staffs need a lot of exercise
Marvin and me would walk 20 miles in a day, in the Lakes, or Wales; but I know he was not happy when I have to go to work, and Marvin has to stay at home
I have a beautiful red brindle English Staffy she is my baby. My cat rules over her it is so funny to watch yeah vicious some people say have never owned a Staffy
Honestly I’ve had numerous dogs from chihuahua to Great Danes. My favourite dog I hv still is my staffy bull very protective dog the amount of muscle sometimes he where’s a large breed collar that barely fits I hv anxiety very bad and knows I need him can’t imagine life with out him. I would love to hv another one or 2 we don’t really see many in Canada if you or any one hv any that needs a home is I’m willing to adopt 2 anyone message me please
Best dogs ever!❤
My first time with a staffy, I fell in love when I seen this random person walking this little stocky dog with such a beautiful attitude yet looked so scary,, I petted and fell in love with such a playful puppy nature,, she’s the most loving loyal trustworthy being I have even met
Me and my Dad & Mum are looking to get one and this was the most helpful video we came across amazing content!
Great program staffs are greats dogs very friendly and loyal
Pretty much everything this woman has just said apart from being clingy is completely wrong ! I have owned staffys all my life and I have learned that every staffy is extremely energetic and if that energy is not met looking of her "half hour of ezcersise per day" lol will make them extremely noisy and they are very protective and destructive . This woman is really ill informed I would say .
A politician recommeds they should be put on dangerous dog list maybe they have a handbag dog a staff is a lovin kissy trustin dog socialices with other dogs and people
it's the best dog
Bet she don't walk them!😆 Mine got 5 miles every day
I'm John's wife. He passed away 10/04/20
My Amstaff is in deep mourning. I didn't know dogs grieved that way. I got her a kitten to try to help. She loves all other animals.
The Staffordshire bull terrier was never used to catch bulls its a myth and a lie bulldogs was used for catching bulls and not them fat deformed things of today with pug blood in them, the Staffordshire bull terrier was a working man's dog a ratter and a gladiator, thats was bred to be small enough to hide he was a allround dog of that time but never a bull catching dog dont tell lies and cloud the true history of the dog with dreams and myths they have a rich history without people fantasising
My staffordshire bull terrier was put to sleep the other night after 16 years, she was my bestest friend in the whole world. No other dog will ever come close to what she was. My baby.
Where’s pls somone tell me where can I get a Irish staffy in America
Everything she said was spot on 👌
My Staffy is one litle fire cracker, loads of energy and allways fun.
This isn't a Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Our son has a 7 month old Staffie, hes beautiful and loves everybody and other dogs
Only fault I can find with a Staffie – don't get them an ordinary football – they'll pierce it in seconds!
🐕❤️🐕❤️🐕❤️🐕❤️🐕❤️
My Staffordshire lived 17 yrs and he was,and is my most loyal loving companion,he passed, away 9-8-23 ,the most pain I've ever felt ,and happiest I ever felt ,and still as hard as it is losing him ,he is all worth the pain of losing him,he will live always in us that knew him.
