  1. Raising my second Heeler, and no. 7 is something that NEEDS to be stressed. By saying Early and Correcting firmly I realize that in the day of pet parents telling someone that you have to smack a 3 month old puppy in the chops is not popular. HOWEVER if you want an unlivable situation at 8 months you HAVE TO! Otherwise your Heeler may be ruined for life as a household pet. A sobering statistic is 2 out of 7 non-working Heelers live in shelters.

  2. I adopted a tiny little puppy on the hottest day in San Antonio that little tiny blue puppy and I named him blue I looked around to see if I can find his owner anywhere there was something told on the news that some puppies were thrown out I don’t know if they were blue healers or not but I named him blue he loves me with all his heart and will protect me and everything you said was true and conference exact Leewood I thought he is now about two years old my friends are afraid of him I bought a muzzle but he doesn’t want it I am doing better with training him not to but I will be watching you for more details thank you so very much he’s probably the best dog I ever had and I believe that God sent me him because of my anxieties he’s a loving dog he sleeps with me and my cat and if I can figure out how to send you a picture I have proof

  3. You reckon learning how to talk with those buttons would give him enough extra mental stimulation? We can play fetch it, name it, hide it, herd 'em ( with conveniently scattered items), pick it up, put away, carry it, cart the laundry basket to and fro , play on the floor, outside to chase the squirrels, jump through hoops, train, learn progressive tricks like all the different steps to learn to get up on my shoulder or to get up on an intruder shoulder and stay there and growl like hell, maybe even some bite work. Maybe an obstacle course for her to run up and down and through and under and over…

… but I can't write a bike walk or jog. So is the above enough or not? Anybody?

  4. If you mixed with Boxer that would chill it out quite a bit, give it some Independence that wouldn't mind my absence because the guarding would take over and it would be on the job for guarding. I've had Boxers Pits Shepherds Chow Amstaff Jack Russell Chihuahua Corgi – they don't tear up my house. They are all usually laying exactly where they lay down when I leave the house and tell 'em, "stay and be good, girl".

They get used to me disappearing for varying amounts of time. They never know how long , when I get back I say a good hello but there's not a lot of attention yet but I talk to them as I walk to wherever I'm going to go put up my stuff and do whatever I'm going to do until I can go settle down, sit down, chill out and talk face-to-face with some ear scritches and with me doing my doggy smile and pant with my tongue out – but only when I'm well away from her active head and she can't make me chop my tounge off by head-butting me accidentally!

  5. Great video! Lot’s of good information! My Bella is 4 1/2 years old. She’s my second Cattle Dog and I would never have anything else! Smart?? She’s smarter than me, that’s all I know!!😆I can’t put anything over on her. It’s like she reads my mind!!😊👍

  6. Something that was left out that I feel should be Number#1 and I cant stress it enough…. SOCIALIZE them!!!! They are very protective of their people and wary of strangers.

  7. My red healer is the sweetest, goofiest, awesome puppers…but she does love to pee on carpets….being gone at work is a problem but I always have either me or my husband stop by and visit her even on the busiest day.

  8. ACD's are SUPER SENSITIVE IFVYOU HURT THEM THEY WILL REMEMBER AND YOU WILL DAMAGE THE BOND AND EVENTUALLY TJEY WILL STOP TRUSTING YOU, YOU COULD MAKE YOUR SITUATION WORSE BY YOUR ACD BECOMING AGGRESSIVE TOWARD YOU, THEY WILL NOT JUST SUBMIT LIKE OTHER PASSIVE BREEDS, ACD's WILL FIGHT BACK (YOU JERKS DESERVE IT) IF YOU ABUSE THEM
CORRECTION IS NOT SMACKING THEM, STOP DOING THIS TO YOUR ACD!!!!
