The American Staffordshire Terrier
The American Staffordshire Terrier is compact but powerful. Think of them as little powerhouses—short, stocky, and full of muscle. They usually stand up to 19 inches tall and weigh anywhere between 40 to 70 pounds. That’s a lot of strength packed into a small frame.
Their bodies are built like athletes, with broad chests, strong necks, and firm legs. AmStaffs have short, glossy coats that come in many colors, including brindle, brown, sable, and liver, usually with white patches on the chest or face. Since they don’t have an undercoat, they are easy to groom but can feel cold in winter.
