  1. Thank you Anneka for bringing this to.our attention. I would.prefer all the old breeds looks and the health that probably went along with their functionality. We just can't leave well enough alone 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🫶

  2. The dogs back then, may look heather but I guarantee they were not. The breeders were not looking out for their hearth either back then. They were looking for more if they can get the job done or not and some were bread for look as well. Like the Doberman, the man smash dogs from the pound to get the Doberman. He was not doing any health testing back then. Back then the dogs did not live as long as dogs do now too. I would like to get some of the dog's fix, like the German Shepherd, dogs with the smoosh faces, dogs that is really short.

  3. Hi Anneka…I really liked the German Shepherd segment of this video. I've read the showline GSDs are divided into American and West German Showlines. Both of these dogs are differentiated by their physical features, temperaments, and breeding standards. For example, West German Showline GSDs have a straighter back and moderate angulation in the hind legs. They also have a more balanced temperament with a good mix of confidence and trainability. Breeders of these dogs adhere more closely to the standards of the original German Shepherd with emphasis on both appearance and workability. American Showline GSDs, on the other hand, were bred more for appearance sometimes resulting in being prone to nervousness and anxiety. They have a steeper sloping back making them more susceptible to health problems. Given the choice between the two, I would choose the West German Showline.

  4. Second, everything possible should be done to return all dog breeds to their functional and healthy appearance, leaving aside fashions, questionable personal tastes and beauty displays.

  5. Sad to see that our own vanity has caused a lot of suffering to some breeds, hopefully with the advances in DNA science we could perhaps one day try breed some of these dangerous traits back out of these dogs and have more long lived healthy companions.

  6. Yes its a shame. In nature its "survival of the fittest". In some cultures its "survival of the fittest for work". In most cases its "survival of likes with no purpose"..

  7. lets not forget about popular colors like Merle… and introducing the bobtail gene into many breeds and how this will effect dogs in the future. We already see alot of dogs sick from this.

  8. She didn't mention why the Saint Bernard coat became long though.

Saint Bernards almost went extinct they ended up breeding the dogs that were left with Newfoundland dogs that's why their coats changed.

  9. Hiya @Anneka,

    Good day.
    I need your help !
In many YouTube videos, the video makers have varying comments on the Doberman’s bite force PSI. Some say it as 245-248 PSI and some say it’s 300-304 PSI. Which one is the true average bite force PSI of Doberman ?

Please could you advise the correct answer on European Doberman’s bite force PSI & American Doberman’s bite force PSI.

I believe in your answers ONLY.

    Please let me know
    with 💌🤟

  10. Breeders need to bring back the original look of these breeds! Especially the pug. My neighbour has a pug with a longer snout and still cute af!
All dogs with flat faces deserve to have a normal snout.
All dogs deserve to have a normal amount of skin.
All dogs deserve to be able to run, play and jump without worrying about being out of breath, pain or paralysis.
I’m so sick of what human beings do to animals.

  11. You’re wrong about the Bull Terrier, the egg head didn’t come about until the 70s when Oppenheimer selectively bred for it, it was all for show, had nothing to do with dog fighting.

  12. That first cavalier king Charles spaniel was an english toy spaniel( king Charles spaniel is the other name) not a cavi. English toys were the ancestor breed that cavalier king Charles spaniel. Cavaliers were bred to be a more moderate breed with longer legs and snouts, they were never bred with pugs. Their issues stem from a small gene pool and many terrible byb, not because of mixing with pugs.

  13. The classic looks of these breeds not only look better but are healthier. It is tragic to make animals suffer because humans think they look "cute" due to bad breeding.
