Our pitty is about 10% staffie as well and everyone has warned us time and again about him around outer little kids, but he's been the best big brother you could ask for

I have a staffy mixed with black mouth cur….. he not only smiles at me like that he has big black lips and also tries to sit in my lap at almost 80 lbs lol

While I personally would never own a bull-type dog breed (judge me if you want. I’ve spent a lot of time professionally training dogs and I’m not saying they deserve the severe reputation they have, but people have a tendency to pick dog breeds based on aesthetics without consideration for what that breed is bred to do. Same reason why I’d never own a husky. They just don’t gel with my lifestyle.) I will say that bull terriers, specifically Staffordshire Bull Terriers in particular, do seem to be particularly chill and sweet. They’ll just sit there, 8 inches from you, with that adorable, derpy smile on their face for hours just happy to be included.

A few years ago we moved in with the in-laws, who had a pitbull. At one point we were standing in the yard and my daughter started crying. Almost immediately the dog ran out with his favorite toy and dropped it in front of her. He was an absolute love bug! 🥰
Staffies used to have a bad rep in the UK years ago, but attitudes have changed.

I’ve got a lab pit mix, he’s very friendly with kids, not so much calm though. He has energy for days. He would never intentionally hurt the kids, that being said, his tail has about 400 knockdowns and counting. Damn thing almost stings my legs when I get home from work everyday!

American Pitbull Terriers (staffy X bull terrier) were known at the nanny dog. They were the first dog in the American military. All they want to do is please their owners. Unfortunately, dog fighting has ruined the image of the breed. Ghetto ppl have made pitbulls look evil. They know the difference between animal and ppl. They are never naturally aggressive towards ppl. When they were originally used to fight, the owners would reach in the pit and separate the dogs. They knew to never bite ppl…. Unless they got abused by ghetto ppl.
