Chow? More like Chill.😎

Luca is a 4-year-old Chow Chow with a big personality.

Seriously, this dog is a vibe.

Luca doesn’t have time for silly things like tricks or treats. If he’s feeling in the mood, he’ll show you his moves – otherwise he’s just going to lay back and chill.

Despite my best efforts (and squeaker, and peanut butter treats), he wasn’t interested in my camera—this dog beats to his own drum. 🐾

Facts about Luca:
🐕 Loves to chill more than anything
🍖 Fave snack: dried beef
😎 Unbothered by humans

Do your thing, Luca.

  1. sometimes he likes it, sometimes not… and stands his ground by sticking close to his owner! the chowchow sure is chowchowing!

  2. I have a chow chow!, I live for the representation! They are super friendly when they're not at home.

Just be careful entering a home with a chow chow. They take INTROVERT to a whole new level.

  3. I used to have two Chows and the owner used so real. They have a mind and will of their own; if they want to be cuddly and affectionate, they will be. If they don’t feel like doing something, there’s no way on earth you can convince them.😂Love them though❤️

  4. We Chow owners know exactly what this guy means.

Mine is a surprisingly friendly chow, but
they don't do tricks to please you,
they are not cuddly if you want them to be,
they don't seem to care if you exist,
they don't play with other dogs,
they might not even play with their own toys,
they've got a mind of their own,
they don't bond with everyone in the family (basically they bond with one person and the rest are tolerated at best),
they're more like a cat than a dog.

But we wouldn't have it any other way. It's not a dog for everyone but once a chow bonds it bonds forever.

  5. Chows can be awesome dogs but as someone who work in the vet field they're an automatic caution 😅 Definitely not fond of strangers touching them

  6. Yeah. Chow chows are assholes sometimes especially the way you raise them. I currently have 2. 1 female (Nala) and its son (Uno). Nala grow up with us she's with us up to pur room from little to mama but her son on the otherhand grow up in a cage sometimes roaming. But he was not really manage well his kinda terretorial especially with his food my sister got bitten by him like 3 times and me 1 timw my dad 1 time. His an asshole but still love him

  7. Hey man. I really like how you presented yourself to be so friendly to Luca .
Im really impressed by the results too. The colours look beautiful. But (Just a stupid opinion of mine) due to the colours , the dog's fur looks dusty and sort of muddy or dirty. Its just an opinion of mine ,and its possibly because Im so stupid, but just putting it out right here

  8. Chows are just typically not friendly with strangers. That doesn't make them a bad dog, and he is being a responsible owner by acknowledging the breed's predisposed behavior. They were bred to be fiercely loyal to one handler, to the point of being possessive, and defend their property with their life in China. They don't take to stress well and need specialized care as they have a ton of genetic health issues that can be costly.

They don't make good family pets with children, and many families had to learn that in the 80s when they were all the craze. Now every mixed breed dog in the damn world is like 10% Chow Chow on a DNA test because so many of them were abandoned after they bit kids or barked at everything.
