Why We Love the Scottish Terrier
The Scottish Terrier, or “Scottie,” is a small, sturdy dog known for its bold personality and distinctive beard and bushy eyebrows. Loyal and independent, this breed has a strong sense of character, making it both a charming companion and a natural watchdog.

thanks he was a loyal pet he really became my mothers dog
Just before I moved to Indiana in 1978, my best friend and I went camping over Labor Day weekend. He brought 3 of his Scotties ( one blacak and 2 white) with us. We got to our camp site and were enjoying the night when the dogs started barking. My friend shown his flashlight and we saw a pair of beady little eyes staring back. We had skunks all around us!. I fired off my .22 rifle and it didn't phase them a bit. He fired off a .30-30 round and it let out a belch of flame as sounded as if a bomb went off. and the skunks scattered. Later that night as we slept they came back and the oldest Scotty got into a fight with a skunk. He won the fight but unfortunately in my opinoin he lost as he had gotten sprayed before killing it. We had to pack up that morning to come home and put all the scotties who all smelled like they had gotten sprayed in the very back of his stationwagon with part of the back window down and the other four down all the way. Even with the windows down the smell was memorable.when we got them home it took 6 tomato juice baths to get the smell out of them.
