My sister has a half boxer, half black Lab mix and everything is true. She also howls.
Was at a mates place recently. He's got a boxer named duke. Was a big session. Sitting on the couch he comes and snuggles on the couch with me, looks up into my eyes with pure love. Fell asleep and woke up to him still cuddling me. I fell in love with the breed that very moment.
