Cat Pleads to Go Outside (Wait for It)

Ex-rescue kitten Ficus wants to play outside. He doesn’t care if the ground is wet and muddy. I care because I will have to clean him thoroughly when he’s done playing. And he doesn’t like it particularly when I have to clean his paws well.

Ficus was about 3 months old when we rescued him. He was tiny, skinny, starving, and dirty. He was full of fleas and ear mites. We named him after the plant ficus triangularis, the plant I bought on the day we found him. He grew up with our dogs Emma & Shirley. Eventually we found out that he was a Japanese bobtail. This breed is known for its very pleasant playful nature, is affectionate and highly intelligent. He also adapts well with other cats and dogs or as a solo cat. He knows how to play by himself. He’s quite a fun cat to have.
