Snowshoe Hare hunting with beagles in Northern Wisconsin! We teamed up with our friends over at The Hunting Public and assembled a small army to chase the snowshoe hare. Rabbit hunting with Beagles is nothing short of a blast. With little snow and white rabbits, it made for the perfect opportunity to target these lil buggers.
Unlike cottontails, snowshoes will run a very large circle and rarely “hole up” which makes them a ton of fun to run with the Beagles.

for me this is the best part the dogs I shoot all the rabbits you want which I hope we do cuz they are good but this is the best steadiness thing I can do for a retriever is walk it heel well there’s a whole bunch of beagles running rabbits or yeah when I need her to retrieve I ask her to retrieve when she’s not retrieving she’s right here and so if you’re a duck hunter this transitions my retriever into the Duck Blind cuz what do I want my duck dog to do sit Qui wait till I ask you to do something go do what I ask you to do they mash and mix together really well if you have good foundation with them and I think they’re just as happy picking yeah I was just going to say it’s a fun way for us to do it and it’s a fun way for the dogs to get a little bit of real world for sure for sure the retrieving is what they these guys live for so give them that and the beagles live for this and you know as a as a hunter like me I I’m just happy with anything dog me and Ted Like just like plow and brush CU we don’t have OB like you guys got to do let’s go we’re 420 yards already so so now we’re going to end up we’ll probably change direction but we’ll just see where it goes so we totally had a plan to go that way they’re paralleling so when they start barking that means they’re on the rabbit so this this is the dog that’s probably got the rabbit see how she’s run two circles now they’re both these are two dogs are together so they’re running a rabbit in a circle so they ran one there and now they’re running it tighter oh they’re coming right at yeah you go down let’s just spread out here [Music] yep there he is there he [Laughter] is here Ted you shot it righty shoot man all right nice ass pumping down there that wasw yeah first one of shot Eagles too that worked out you can see him he flashed going to the right and then all of a sudden he cut back and came like straight at me and then stopped Ted pitch that pitch that baby back out in that Woods it’s not the actual pick but it’s really close and it’s close enough for her to be like oh I get it connect the dots and then next time cuz if you if that if those dogs had just moved on and you send the dog in she’s going what you know like but now we set it up like close next time we might set it up closer eventually we get the real thing and all of a sudden it’s click click click and now it’s get it the beauty of that was she sat nice and steady through the whole thing and so she learned from all of that and these guys are sitting here going I’m you know I know I know what’s going to happen here so this is the loop this is the loop they went uhhuh and then they did a circle and look at look at how close we are to the original Trail we’re literally standing on it bring [Music] right right there oh that’s another one oh there he goes there he goes there he goes like El butt everybody let’s get this one before this one turns heal get right to that corner you went this way Sor there got him Bingo bring up that Labrador got my blood going pretty good nice shooting Cole Jack you got such a well- trained dog well trained retriever these guys are a bunch of killers look at that thing like AER too that is a big one come on Katie Katie same thing as last time be ready you know you might be moving to get her to bring it all the way come on Jean God she’s got nice she’s got nice drive too there there I got to do that same thing with one of the pups I’m training right now walk away and have her hold walk away have her hold walk cuz it gives her something to think about instead of sitting there with excitement and wanting them all oh [ __ ] I got to go totally so I do that with one of the puppies I have right now there and eventually you won’t have to come here so there’s one thing about a h guy like all Hound guys Jack’s a Hound guy they are like with those dogs like a SAS the old the old beagle himself they’ll like dive into the swamps they’re chasing these bear hones out of [ __ ] they’re catching dogs they’re they are like go they’re like dogs themselves they’re just wild they’re chopping now boys they’re just on this side of the swamp guys let’s spread out right down here someone get down to that corner just the firing line doesn’t have a great chance oh the other one’s coming good well then we might be in business here guys the old gal’s just warming them up over here for her [Music] there they’re on it there they’re on [Music] it that sounds good that old dog had that thing running for a long time we saw it once I saw it once up here like every 10 minutes there’ be a big right there it is you don’t care good job bud that one good job one that’s a nice one man they got some feet on them there eyes right out we don’t eat the eyes John she’s right before he was trying to tell us that that gun shoots 5T high that thing shoots so high shoots a little high but it’s not I think it’s nice to have those trails to walk too cuz you know they’re going to cut across right sure it’s safer probably for all of us I mean I’m not into safety or anything but as long as we’re getting rabbits that’s what matters that crockpot is going to be happy [Music] and then I feel like we go ky ky ky kitty kitty kitty and go that is pretty isn’t [Music] it coming right back towards the trail yeah right there I can see it yep go to the right go to the right H see that H see that big pile go get on that pile dad do you still see it no right behind the whole Bush are get him again all right you went in here Hey Jake there’s some horses coming down just so you know hi there hi hi hello they just running big Loops out [Music] there they are they’re running three big Loops out there all those three Loops they made that crazy where you at Hans yet they’re right on it there it is go to the left and call okay I’m going behind you here it is right in front of us going your way going left it’s coming right at [Applause] you hey you got one [Music] yeah how many were in there I think a bunch I almost had a horse but yeah those things are flying there were two young ladies that were a little concerned all this busted out oh there they hit him there there it is I just saw going right should move [Music] yeah this is quite a loop here he he heal it heal that was a poke that was a huge circle I wonder how many steps those little legs put on today good girl de come on boy they got a good run [Music] going Jesus he would run away he just kept staying in the exact same shot nail them uned right on cool on the ground I see I see I see shoot at the same time yeah you guys hold on now do one two three two three I forgot to Rack a shell he on we got him I bet that was was the one circled right back around they don’t like to leave Girl Scout here come on nice that’s a big one we just saw him sitting way back in there that’s the prettiest one by far oh yeah a big one kind of getting packed in there big oh yeah another one and then they fin coming
