This trait was intentionally bred into the Beagle’s lineage to make them easily visible during hunts. When these eager hounds focus intently on tracking scents, their noses are often buried deep into the undergrowth. The bright white tip acts as a “flag”, allowing hunters to keep an eye on their canine companions as they navigate the field.
