Despite extensive medical care, his health declined rapidly, leading to the difficult decision to end his suffering. Blake had played a crucial role in numerous rescue missions in Malaysia, including the Batang Kali landslide in December 2022, which claimed the lives of 31 people. His departure is deeply mourned by the department.
