We made Louie, our Australian Cattle Dog, a DIY Dog Agility Course!! I have always wanted to get Lou into agility! We realized we had extra wood laying around and we could make one for free!

I have seen lots of videos of heelers doing agility, & I think this is going to be a great addition to Louie’s exercise.

It is always nice to spice up play time with your pup. They love a new game, and you’ll have fun teaching them something new ! Heelers need mental stimulation as well as physical, so this agility hits both areas 🙂

Please give this video a thumbs up if you liked it!

Comment below if you know anything about agility training with dogs, I need some pointers! Also- any ideas on additional agility items we could DIY? Let me know if your heeler does agility! How did you get started??

Thanks for watching !

  1. We have a 2 year old cattle dog named Hunter and the way we stopped his digging was to put his poop in the holes… it doesn’t work for ALL dogs but our boy was horrified at the thought of digging into his own poop so it worked wonders 😊

  2. My rocky digs mostly looking for gophers or squirrels I just let him do it because he seems to enjoy..if you dont want him tearing up your yard maybe pick a spot were it's ok and let him go for it ..I always fill up the holes when hes done

  3. Could you do a video about when Louie was a puppy? Idk if you had him when he was a pup but I’m getting a blue girl at the end of next month and I was just looking for some advice for what to expect

  4. I know I commented twice on this video already from my personal channel, BUT I made a video about heelers on my page inspired by you! I would love if you checked it out! also, I subscribed from both my channels 🙂

  5. Sand pit filled with treats and yard holes fill with poop. Smart enough breed to know where to dig after a while.

  6. A little late but we just got a Blue Heeler (his name is Master cheif petty officer John-117) and we like to see what our little guy will turn into. Thanks!

  7. I like your homemade jams I might do it tomorrow I am in the country as well and are you guys in Canada I am if you are tell me where your place is so I could go there and see the dogs and I could bring my dog is your dog good to other dogs

  8. great tips! I think it is helpful to always sound Happy! Especially on the recall: Puppy-Come! No one likes to come when someone sounds angry, so i always sound joyful – even when i'm concerned for her safety!

  9. my heeler has two USDAA agility dog titles, and we loved it (before covid!). we made jumps and weave poles of PVC that come apart easily, to practice on – easy to store in a small space too! God bless you 3!
