My mother and I were having a loud augument parked up in the car below an old disused railway line with Bruce the dobe in the back with the window down and this big guy was looking and hearing what going on from the old bridge spaning the track and must have decided to investgate what all the fuss was about and if necassary sort me out so was walking down off the bridge and got to around 20 ft away when Bruce jumps out of the back window and slowly but surely walked towards him with an intent that he meant busness that if the guy came any further ? but stopped about 6 ft away and in the sitting position showed like only a dobe can his big barrel chest gtowling and snarling saying "Dont come any cloer, thats far enough! Before all this i used to think he was bit hair brained!?
Dobies are the best 🥰🥰
Wow I did not know that Dobermans could run potentially that fast! I have a lot of hills in my backyard but a lot of space are hills bad for a dog's hips?
What dog door do you have?
Whatever, I had mine going 42mph for a 300
“Dobermans have the intelligence of a 2 and a half year old human child”
I think that’s says more about how insanely intelligent humans are than it says about Dobermans. N I mean we all know how Dobermans are insanely intelligent as far as other dogs or any other animal for that matter
Dobermans are capable of robbing banks! Just watch the 1972 movie, “The Doberman Gang”
Having had , over the years, 5 Dobies (other dog breeds during and in between), I love the Dobies most. I had 1 Dobie pup that I raised, myself and the rest were rescues. Each one proved stellar to the breed standard of loyalty, alertness to friend vs. foe, and ease of trainability… intuitively so. Dobies, once you've partnered with them, just GET you. It is almost scary, but they are on your side. I once had a Dobie-phobic friend who met one on my dogs and said, "OMG. he seems like he's human!" Yep. Because Dobies read "human" better than we humans do. No BS for Dobies. Dobies just want good humans to love and protect. They're pretty good at weeding out the bad apples. With good Apples, your Dobie loves plenty of fluffy pillows, massages in those great tickly spots, chewy toys, and to smear him/herself up against you, wherever you are. "Dobie Lean" applies anywhere and at anytime! I love it!!!
i’m gonna get one
That's easy! Here we go:
1. They chase dingleballs like their lives depend on it.
2. They are excellent excavators. I mean, look at their paws! You'll never need a shovel in uour life (unless precision is at the top of your list)
3. They are very high on energy and very good alarm clocks. A snooze button is an impossibility in their design. Rumour has it that if you fail to wake up on time, they will drag you out of your bed, by your feet, all the way downstairs and whine at you incessantly until you put on their leash and take them out for a walk.
4. They are tug-of-war champions.
That's my favorite about dobes most people see someone walking a Dobe especially if you have trained their pup young and bring them around public areas will watch in awe as your Dobe performs every command without uttering a word my dobe was amazing
Wait they are faster then an American Pitbull ?
God's gift to us !!!!!
Excellent video. It surpassed my expectations.Great work congratulations.Keep up the good work.
I just acquired a 3 month old puppy Doby, and i can attest to this video. I'm working with her on typical puppy things i.e., sit, stay, no, etc. Before i get the leash or a treat, she's already making eye contact and sitting in a desired spot. At times she will test my patience, but intelligence in a dog will do that. So far our biggest challenge right now is potty training and being stubborn with getting into bad behaviors. Thankfully, her drive for food is the main motivator in all of it.
The vision analogy was crazy sheesh
Sauer the Doberman. Holds a world record for tracking.
The main reason Dobermans fell out of favor with the US Military is actually due to how dependent they are on their human bond. Shepherds and Malinois can be trained and passed from handler to handler if necessary and can handle kennelling, whereas Dobermans do best with a single handler and don't take well to kennelling.
Would the miniature pinscher have any similarities in personality too…?
My Doberman is my service dog! His scent is amazing and accurate, and he doubles as intimidation so people leave me alone
I can validate the 8 foot fence clearance, grew up with a Doberman, was my Dads camp dog who worked in forestry , as a ranger and forestry instructor, we had a neighbor with an 8 foot high fence , was an ex mounty, he'd call me over to watch , He used to have our dog over time to time to pet sit , he'd call Spook " got him on Halloween, 2 years old , half wild , Mom said Eiiiieek! " when he showed up , name stuck .
Neighbor would call him , and we'd watch spook clear the 8ft , but he never needed to scramble it , cleared it every time like it wasn't there really.
Seemed effortless for him .
But he was a full on working dog , kept the bears out of camp , and would run a daily circuit in the bushes , checking in on every Student , then tracking down my Pops to wherever he was hiking .
