My first week with Arlo, my new Doberman puppy, is in the books! It was a lot of work and there were certainly failures, as well as successes, this week but my new puppy is right on track with where he should be. He’s fitting into our family just great and we are certainly in love with this little guy. He has absolutely amazed me with how fast he’s picking up certain commands and behaviors that we’ve taught him. We’ve done our absolute best with his training to set him up for success, but his progress in only one week in a new home is still absolutely amazing. But just like any 9-week-old puppy, he still has a few struggles that we’re working through. So in this video, we’ll talk about many of the things we’re doing to help Arlo get on the right track!

I hope that all breeders will see this and direct the owners to see this video..I wish I had you seen this before we got our puppy. that would have helped with her chewing/sucking. You gave many, many !!!necessary helpful pointers!!!
What is the posting method you are using in this video? We just brought home a 8 week old with the cup/cone on his head. I know we can’t post till stitches are out and ears heal but wondering how you kept them up before full posts?
Hi
Great videos
Would like to know
If you recommend breeders or places to search I live in New
Jersey I’m interested.
I love these highly informative, shows! Thank you so much!👍
I wonder, do you still use a crate at night for sleeping, or does he just sleep on his bed?
What are the treats u giving him when he is doing the tricks?
what do you do with a new puppy while the humans are eating😃 So they aren't at the table learning bad begging habits etc?
With my GSD puppy, I had at least 3, possibly 4 vet visits over 90 days for various vaccinations last summer. I've been using my same people in Germany for the past 25 years so I knew he'd be healthy when I picked him up at the airport; he was. So, the vet appointments had nothing to do with any type of health issue (s). Just the shots! Hahahaha,,,,,,,,,$600.00 later!
I love my rescued dumpster Dobie so much. I never knew how loving this breed is; but also a ton of work.
You're kinda like my doberman dad, teaching me everything about raising a doberman!
I'll get my Doberman And German Shepherd Puppy After A Month I am Ready For Them And To Take Care Of Them
I want to pet 2 puppies at once
I am praying to GOD I haven't convinced my parents about 2 puppies but I am going tell them that we should keep 2 puppies
And I know Highly chance is of Rejection 😭
When I had mine in training sessions, about 15 puppies in class,he would catch on real quick,he would get tired of waiting, and would just lay down and wait😁
They say if you cannot have a horse, get a done😁
Hey been watching your content. My wife and I just got a Doberman, she’s 9 weeks old but way smaller than Arlo in this vid. Might’ve been the runt in the litter although the breeder said she wasn’t. But question on training. Is there a way to get your pup to listen better and are there certain treats you would recommend for training?
Potting is hit or miss with Zeke right now 🤦🏾♀️ he will go outside unless it’s raining! He hates to get his feet wet 😂
hey! just curious when did you move the crate out of your bedroom?
Cropped ears are so not cool. You may say its for so called medical reasons but in todays time this dog is not going into a fight where his ears maybe injured.
get past the first few months its all good. I like the doggie door and its pen by the door.. easiest way to potty train ever.. they want to go as far away from there bed to do there business.
i never teach them to shake.. they end up with muddy paws then sticking there feet on you.. nothing but a trick and not needed.. rather do basic commands of wait,, out,, stay, down,, come,,ect Im older now and not really looking forward to the puppy stage but it will probably be my last puppy I will have by end of June. I got a european line and they live 20 miles from me. champion , health so far so good.
The Guide elaborates on the techniques used on the show. The examples given in the https://youtube.com/post/Ugkx5AVCD46OLnYCyGwOxmyhhvJJSZVuz6nNB1owtD-NF are helpful and some of the techniques suggested very useful. One such technique/tool suggested was the lure stick to encourage a small dog to keep up with the heel command. I have a small dog who lags behind smelling any and everything and find it hard to keep bending over while walking to his level. The lure stick is great also for another dogs focus and sprinting at anything that catches her eye. The stories about different dogs, their different temperaments, have been helpful, especially Lulu's: After reading about Lulu's challenges I felt relief concerning one of my rescues that I have had for 10 years. Over many years I have checked out many training books from the library, watched different shows, DVDS, bought training books, taken lessons and this book is the best by far! Kindness, patience and perseverance works.
