  1. We are picking up a pup on Sunday. We have a large crate from a previous dog but no way to make it smaller as the video suggests. My mum has one about the size of the small section you make. Could we use this as her first crate? As it will be movable could we take it up at bedtime and bring it down as the safe nap space during the day? With our last dog 8 years ago we were in a flat so we didn't have to have her in our bedroom.
Also would bedtime for the pup be when we actually go to bed? Thanks in advance for any help.

  2. I know there is little chance that you will see this comment, but I have different classes every week, one week in the morning and one in the afternoon. my question is will the dog mind walking one week at a time and one week at another?

  3. I plan on getting a Dobermann pup next year around march, and this is great information. I will do more research, but it seems that 1st 6 months will be the hardest. I had a rottweiler years ago and wish I had known all this.

  4. John -what happens if they actually have an accident inside their crate? My situation is that we can't have our baby girl Arwen – 8 weeks – inside our room, so she's about 3 metres out from our room. She's had a couple of accidents and sometimes has gotten inside her crate and pee there… it's not a big crate, just about yours; we put a soft "mattress" and some soft toys that she likes. But, regardless, she pee''d on the mattress already a couple of times. We also use that for her "day pen" she usually goes there to rest or play by herself. It is always open except at night. Thanks for any advice or insight!!

  5. Hi John, is it okay if the puppy is sleeping in a separate room from you? Or should it be sleeping in the same room as you for the first little while? Thanks so much for all your help!

  6. I haven’t even watched the video but I have to say, I’ve owned 4 but been in the family with 5 Dobermans and the 4 I bought snd owned were the easiest pups of any breed ever that I’ve owned. So, for retrospect, I’ve owned two beagles, two shelties, a golden retriever, and 4 Dobermans; out of all those dogs, most would always vote the golden retriever to be the easiest pup but that just isn’t the case.
The number one thing about all dogs but especially the Doberman is make sure they get lots of attention when they are young, make sure they are socializing with lots of people snd dogs on a regular basis, snd that their behavior is always corrected to match the owner’s desires at a young age. Too many people toss Dobeys because they play mind games snd seem over active or aggressive when the case is anything but the truth. Dobermans just want to be stimulated, played with, loved, love you, snd know who they can trust.
They can seem a bit autistic at times but they are just smart dogs testing the environment of their owner’s and surroundings.

  7. Also the first night, introducing to a dog that’s already in the house. Not sure if you have a video on that, but I get my dobe pup in about 3 weeks and would love to know the easiest way to introduce them. Thanks!

  8. I wish I had this video last night. Just got my first doberman puppy yesterday (4/30/22) and he screamed/howled for 2 hours straight and I eventually let him out. Ended up sleeping on the couch with him for the rest of the night. I will do my best from now on to resist the urge to give him attention.

  9. We're did you get your doberman puppy I paid for my puppy and everything I needed for him and never received him and had saved for a long time for him and never received him so I would like to know if you could let me know of a good breaded as the one you got Milo from please I lost all my money on the puppy please help me

  10. I've been thinking about getting a doberman, but I have no idea if they have anal glands problems. I babysat a boxer once and she got her fishy smell everywhere in my house.

  11. Hi! Do you still suggest taking time off of work when both parents work from home? Trying to figure out a great schedule for WFH parents. I would LOVE a video on tips on this so I also don’t accidentally make the pup have separation anxiety. Thanks!!!

  12. My breeder wants me to wait atleast 2 more months to start potty training him outside.. my puppy is 8 weeks old and I just picked him up. Should I not listen and take him outside to potty ? Or use puppy pads inside

  13. Im officially getting my first dobbie pup in 2 months. Im super excited and nervous! Ive been coming back to this video for the past 2/3 months. Very helpful and definitely gets me anxious to have him now. I still have some questions id love he’ll answering….🥲

  14. My dobie female was going to be kennel/crate trained at night That lasted 20 minutes, slept with her all night, luckily no accidents. The rest is history of joy for the next 11 years..

  15. It’s good to see that you love Dobermans as much as I do. Thank you for these great videos. My last Doberman passed over the rainbow bridge at only eight years old. I loved him and still miss him every day. I am considering getting another, but I’m hesitant because of the fact that their lifespan is so short. But I am seriously considering getting another. I miss having my buddy next to me.

  16. Our dobie on the drive home cried every time we drive round a bend even though I was holding her. We have other dogs so she snuggled up to our old lab and slept well.
