  1. Beautiful dog, beautiful groom… But I was cringing as you began to brush the wet coat. I was taught to ALWAYS begin brushing the tips of the hair and with each stroke place the brush just a bit higher towards the body. This opens up the ends of the hair so that as you move upwards, brushing down, you are moving the strands to where they are not crossed… Instead of pushing crossed hairs into tighter mini tangles, which is what I was seeing as you brushed. Just saves me time not having to open out the tangles I have made, and less stress on the dog's hair.

  2. VERY POOR BRUSHING TECHNIQUE, YOU ARE A MAN AND DO NOT UNDERSTAND ABOUT LONG HAIR !!! TO BRUSH, WITHOUT ANY PAIN IN THE NERVOUS TERMINALS OF THE SKIN, YOU MUST TIGHTEN THE HAIR VERY STRONGLY SO THAT THE HAIR BRUSH WILL NOT DRAW AND FADE EVILLY TO THE ANIMAL OR WOMAN (NOTICE TO HAIRDRESSERS MAN THAT COIFFER WOMEN): HOW LITTLE HUMAN SENSITIVITY …..

  3. I cannot imagine having this breed. its skin and bones and so fragile you have to be careful when putting him in and out of bath? I have 2 big caucasian shepherds – one is 88kg another 93kg and even when they have some disagreements between each other and they fight they rarely get injured. I would be worried to even hug this afgan hound not to break some of its bones.

  4. I just found this video – thanks for making this! I used to show Affies (many, many years ago), I currently just have one male Afghan Hound named Journey. He;s 14 years old, so we keep his coat lightly clipped

  5. This is an amazing grooming video for Afghans. We had one back around 69-70. She was papered and had the perfect tail according to professionals. We didn't do anything to get it to curl that way, it just was. She was a beautiful dog and very funny. Loved to get loose and run around on the golf course across from our house. People would stop and watch her run. Watching her run fast and free was an amazing sight. Sadly she chewed up one to many pairs of my dad's leather shoes so she went to a new home. They bred her and she had 17 puppies. It turned out she was to big to show. She was bigger than any of the males we went to see. I will always remember her. This grooming video is amazing. It gives so many tips on the right and wrong way to groom them. Clearly you never want to take an Afghan Hound to a groomer who is not experienced in grooming them. Thanks for bringing back those fond memories of her.

  7. Блин. Вот у меня уже 30 лет афганы. И ни один до конца нормально не мог выстоять сушки/чёски. А машинку вообще ненавидели все…

  8. Wow I love the before and afters. I also love how insightful you are during the entire grooming process as a groomer myself I really admire you and how you do things. I plan on having an Afghan hound soon and now I have better idea of the maintenance on this breed. Well done!!! And thank you.

  11. I have a 10 year old female Afghan and she's always had the Madrid beard is that natural or was that due to bad breeding I've never seen another female afghan with one but she's definitely got it

  12. Her hair looks like mine!😂😂😂 I can’t even keep up with the hair on my Westie! Some job keeping up with your dog with her hair. She’s a beauty though !😉😉😉

  13. Wow! What an amazing presentation. Love this breed, but you are correct. Serious high maintenance.
Love your ethics on how to work with the dog during the groom. Lots of praise and just being gentle.
Had to leave the profession due to the abuse my coworkers were inflicting on our clients pups.
You are an amazing Professional Groomer!!!
    Love your video💝😊
