    For the last few weeks I’ve been seeing so many videos from Zak George slamming dog trainers. I usually don’t engage in this, but it is a little too much. Dog trainers are attacked by these radical people who are whole heartedly opposed to using any corrections in dog training. This is a radical move,ent that I believe will cost the lives of many dogs. I’ve spent years working with and helping shelter dogs. Using fair and balanced training is the best and fairest way to help a dog.

    I will NOT stand by while some internet personality dog trainer slams real dog trainers who are effectives and humanely training dogs and solving problems.

    I proposed many challenges to positive only trainers over the past 10+ years to meet me at any shelter and show me their skills with real dogs. NEVER A TAKER.

    So here I’m offering $1000 to Zak’s favorite charity to get on a podcast and discuss real results dog training. I won’t even delve into scientific studies, because whenever a study is quoted that differs from theirs, they disqualify it. Let’s just talk about experience and results… or else STOP the conversation and get back to dog training.

      Wow! This would be so nice to see. I would love to examples of military or police k9s trained using positive only. Does anyone have examples they can share??! Just curious if it’s a thing.

      Come on @zakgeorge, make it happen already… Although I don't think he ever will, because they have no good arguments.

      i was a big fan of your work, but i’m not sure how you can say that you know more than veterinary behaviorists that have spent 6-10+ years researching how aversives affect dogs’ mindsets. i’ve used prong collars and e-collars, and the results spoke for themselves – my dog is extremely well-trained. i really think it’s a testament to the trainer when you can get the same results without aversives, however. my dog is about to be 3, and i no longer use these aversives. we have a better bond than ever now.

      i’m learning that it’s worth the work and the bond you create with a dog when you don’t need to inflict physical pain/comfort, and the research backs that up. that’s… just a fact. i also think withholding a check from an institution that could really use it just to get someone to come on your podcast is unnecessarily inflammatory, but that’s just me. train your dog however you want, but to say that all of this research is just invalid because you personally don’t find the grounds in it is wild.

      Zak is an epitome of those positive dog trainers who inadvertently and unintentionally quietly turn away from dogs and humans who really need serious help…

      I have only been listening for a month or so, but have watched so many videos. I love your common sense approach to dogs. You come across very sincere and genuine about what you do.

      Don’t worry about proving others wrong, just continue to prove yourself right!! Love your videos!

      I personally wouldn’t accept an invite to anything that was laid out in this manipulative fashion.

      Even though you care about dogs Robert, even though you’d actually like to have this discussion as an honest heart to heart, even though you believe in what you teach, charity is not meant to be a gun you point at someone.

      It’s meant to be given freely out of your abundance. If you want to redeem this misstep, I’d suggest you write out that check now and make the donation without strings attached.

      Because right now it sounds like you’re only willing to write that check if you get clout and viewership by having the biggest dog YouTuber on your show (or your buddy’s, not too different).

      Don’t treat people like dogs with this incentive reward BS masked as compassionate charity. This is actually quite disgraceful and desperate. Please bounce back and be a straight shooter with your advice and invites.

      Let's goooo! Even though I have disagreements, I actually learned a lot from Zak and I think he's great and he has great energy, I'd love to see two of my favorite trainers talk!

      Zac is the vshred of the dog training industry, he is just fed info by somebody off camera. He cant do face to face, he's just a dog training actor

      From everything I watched from Zaks side it really just seems like he doesn't understand what balanced training is. there seems to be a huge misconception on the positive only side. He seems to think that balanced training is teaching through force, he cites studies on training bears through positive reinforcement to accept medication and uses this for an argument that if bears can be taught this way so can't dogs, when this is exactly how balanced trainers would teach a dog. he and many other trainers fail to understand that both sides agree that teaching a behavior is always a positive experience. he's misleading his audience either unintentionally or intentionally.

      We thought zak was probably great at first but quickly came to be very suspicious of him. We now think he's a charlatan. The best I've found so far has been John rogerson, and he gives away everything for free. Unfortunately, he died the day we find out about him (around this last Christmas), but he was the real deal, and cared far more about getting people to have good relationships with their canine companions than he did about monetizing it. Highly recommend his website for the free courses. Who knows how long they'll still be there now? How book, the dog vinci code, is also worthwhile.

      Anyhow, I hope zak takes you up on this. I'd tune in for it.

      Zak will NEVER do that…. He’s recently proven himself to be just a YouTuber out for clickbait. Actually discussing this one on one would expose how shallow his understanding of “The Science” is.
