First of all, the Japanese Bobtail is from Japan and has a bobtail! They have very short tails but they are never completely tailless. Japanese Bobtail cats are very intelligent, active, and vocal. Most of these cats are white with splashes of color, but they can come in a variety of other color combinations. The Japanese Bobtail’s head has the shape of an equilateral triangle.

They are known to bring GOOD LUCK.

This footage is from a TICA (The International Cat Association) Cat Show held on November 18 and 19, 2017 in Largo, Florida.

  1. My cat is one. Had no idea when I got her. She was at the shelter, and the workers said she was the sweetest cat there, but nobody would adopt her because she’s solid black and has no tail (well, a little bitty one of course), and people are superstitious of black cats and thought she was “missing” her tail and overall a freak.

Best cat in the world! I love how their hind legs and rump are higher than the front, that mixed with the bobtail and the head shape makes them very distinctive and interesting, in my opinion

  2. I currently have 4 bobtails, all rescue and two are pregnant. I just love them. They can be very mischievous but also very affectionate

  3. My bobtail Venus is the best thing that ever happened to me and my family! And she is unlike any cat I’d ever seen. Love her 💗

  4. I miss my Japanese Bobtail. His name was "Bagets". He was intelligent, sweet, active, and very talkative. He died after being poisoned, we strongly think it was our neighbor who hated cats. He was specially hating on my cat, because my cat plays and hangs out with his chickens. I was probably 14 or 15 when he died. If ever I would get another cat, I'd like a Japanese Bobtail again. They're one of the sweetest cats around.

  5. i have looked and looked and I have never found another of this breed with the coloration of mine. she is a tortoiseshell with a single small white sock on one foot. the only Japanese bobtails i can find pics of are solid, spotted or calico colored. is my tortoiseshell Japanese bobtail that rare? also I should mention, she adopted me, just showed up in my house one evening and never left, she has been with me for 3 years now and is my life.

  6. I hate that people are breeding the oval eyes out of japanese bobtails…… thats part of what makes them unique. Just leave them be! Not every cat breed needs to have oversized round eyeballs….. No wonder japanese bobtails from american breeders are no longer related to the original feral bobtails of japan….. People wont stop messing with the breed standard. They've had no health problems for 1400 years….. Stop F***ing with them! We don't need another mutated man made breed with breathing problems…..

  7. I have a Japanese bobtail he just recently died :'(, he's similar in this video a white with a splash of orange. He has a soft voice and very intelligence.

I wish to have a cat again, where can I adopt a Japanese bobtail?

    I'm from Asia, Philippines.

  8. Oh wow. I just adopted a motherless kitten on the street. And he has a short tail, and I didn't know that my cat is a Japanese bobtail. It's amazing 🤩 i named him Oreo Because it has a round pattern like Oreo.

  9. I have japanese bobtail cat named "Cardo"
He is now 7 months old.
He is so adorable, cute, sweet, energetic and intelligent cat.
I'm so happy when my cat comes to my life.
