Thats great news Alex, its all your love that has cured him. Just give him a lot of love and all will be good. My vet put my 4 year old ACD Cody on Simparica for fleas and tic about a year ago and we have noticed that he pants a lot more and has had less energy . A friend of mine put his small dog on Simparica and the side affects killed him. I am going to stop giving that to him . Sometimes i think these new meds can cause a lot of bad side affects.
I have all these accomplishments and qualifications in a specific industry…. As far as education I've pretty much topped out,…… The hardest thing, for me to say to someone is…… I don't know 🤷…. Because I anticipate hearing why don't you know you're an expert……. Dr. Fauci anyone?. Sorry for the rant….. I am so happy the future of your pup is bright and thank you for all that you do, we all look forward to your posts
So wonderful to hear, Alex! As a former vet tech…that kind of thing is almost unheard of!! WOW! Nice to hear that miracles still happen. Take it for what it is! 🙂
Totally feeling you! Whatever it was, sounds like toxins are leaving him. I think all the love and support matter on every level. He even looks better! Really happy for you all. 😃
That's awesome news, I'm so happy for Lucien and you! You, feel hugged, and boop that snoots from me! =) Edit: I bet, either he realised, that it's "healers" instead of "heelers" or… he thought there's still to much mischief to be done for him to leave. Either way, it's just amazing! ^^
So happy that your fur baby is better! I am convinced that these metabolic issues all come down to diet. What we feed our fur babies this day and age is horrid crap that didn't even exist 200 years ago. Kibble wasn't even invented until the mid 1800s and wasn't a widespread food until WWII. It is loaded with stuff that dogs never ate in history, like industrial seed oils, sugar, wheat and other grains, peas and potatoes. This carbage is what passes for "dog food " nowadays. It jacks the dog's insulin, resulting in insulin resistance leading to inflammation and all sorts of metabolic issues.
Can I ask you a question about your cat attacked your character always seems to bite one person and that’s it or it always seems like it doesn’t want to listen to you I made a way that he still doesn’t wanna listen to you in such a lovable dog and I just want to sit there and do whatever you want me to do but he doesn’t he always buys everything and we don’t know why you have a solution or do you have a reason why the catalog that’s at so much and like to know please
Indy was in bad shape last Tuesday. Coughing like crazy, swollen red eyes, and very slow, labored breathing=Bordetella infection. Vet loaded him up with antibiotics and the same night he's back to being hell on wheels. No more dog parks, end of conversation.
Sent that info prematurely , by mistake , sorry . I looked up Lucien’s medication , Rimadyl , in veterinarian Gary Richter’s book , The Ultimate Pet Health Guide . The possible side effects are GI upset , kidney and liver damage . Personally , I think his liver regenerated itself , when he came off the medication , and it took a long time to do so , because there was lots of damage . His healing WAS a miracle ; you don’t survive long with a non functioning liver !! Unbelievably lucky !! Gary’s book gives several treatment suggestions for leg injuries , one of which is acupuncture , my favorite . Acupuncture has been used successfully for thousands of years , with NO side effects …. it either works or it doesn’t !! Frequency of treatments is important , and he said it can take upwards of four to six weeks to see significant improvement , so be patient . The great benefit here is the legs have the potential to be HEALED !!
My experience with dog acupuncture has been with two regular vets , and one holistic vet . The cost is the same or less than a regular vet visit . The dog doesn’t need to be anesthetized . The vet would insert the needles , and I would stay with my dog for the duration of the treatment (20 min or so) , then the vet would remove the needles , and we would be on our way . There was never any pain involved for the dog , and the vet was able to treat other patients while I was tending my dog .
You never revealed Lucien’s specific leg issues , but one of the most common is joint or ligament injuries , which function are to stabilize the knee . I recently watched a Blue Heeler on YouTube working out with one of those large balls . The way he was working those joints with sudden , abrupt turns seemed like an accident getting ready to happen !! They would never twist their legs like that when herding … they would basically be running in straight lines
I have used it many times over the years for my dogs
Dear Alex , I just discovered your post , thank you . The way acupuncture works is , it increases the blood supply to the area , which means more oxygen , which is fast food for every cell . Another one of it’s specialties is pain relief . The dogs become very calm and relaxed during and after their treatment , sometimes even dozing off . Once I discovered acupuncture for them , that became my first choice of treatment . They never had any meds when they were having acupuncture treatments . They can treat his liver and legs at the same time , and make it a deluxe event !! Personally , I would be very leery of meds , after his last experience . One surprise was enough !! I am not a doctor , but I am pretty sure most , if not all , meds are filtered through the liver .
If you Google , Holistic Veterinarians , or Animal Acupuncture , you might find one near you . I had to travel 1 to 1 1/2 hours , for my dog’s appointments , but I live in the boonies . I never minded making the trips , though ; I was grateful for the opportunity . It may be easier to find an acupuncturist in the city . If I can be of any help , email me at padriscoll01@gmail.com
Thank you for sharing your magnificent dogs with us . 🌸💕
My dog was dying and we couldn't find out why. We discovered he was eating the leaves on my goji plant. We dug up the plant and he did better. Unbeknownst to us, this plant can grow back if a fraction of the root is left and it will migrate/spread to another part of the yard. Sadly he found it and ate the leaves leaving a stem. We didn't know that until the leaves grew back after his death. Mentioning in case your dog is eating a plant in your yard that is hurting him.
PS love your videos. I prefer youtube channels vs TV. Your videos are filled with information on your own experiences. Thank you for sharing. Also when you apply makeup in all your videos, you do a great job in accomplishing the natural look. Love your hair color and styles too. A lot better job than TV commentators/reporters do.
Was he ever tested for hepatitis during this illness? My heeler mix got pancreatitis which morphed into jaundice. This was in 2007 when he was & years old. He had a liver biopsy and was diagnosed with hepatitis. He took antibiotics and liver support meds for months before he was cleared.
Hi Alex, my dog has liver disease, advanced stage. We are debating his next weeks, how is your dog now? Mines jaundice is bad now… Was eating okay for two days, now today won't eat…
You mentioned he was overweight before, fat stores alot of interesting chemicals and things. When he lost alot that weight he was releasing a lot of the stuff in his fat.

YAY Lucien!! What a relief! He has that ACD magic! Cherish every moment with your beloved ACD's as I do mine! Being stubborn does have advantages!
i am so happy for y'all! yay!
Almost makes you wonder if he ingested something that caused the symptoms, and then he recovered. That's amazing news, congratulations!
Be honest you sent him to Dogwarts School of Wizardry didn't you? :). (I'm not crying, you're crying 🙂 )
Alex it's wonderful news and it's about time you got good news from the vet. Love your video
Unbelievably happy for this good boy, best wishes for his recovery!

***Zylol sweetener in European chewing gum causes those symptoms. Extremely toxic to dogs. They sell that gum at ALDI grocery store.

Happy to hear your baby healed from his symptoms. ♥️
Glad he was able to kick it a little longer. Sorry for your loss, though.
I watched your video about luciens embark test.
