  1. I saved my acd from a pack of coyotes..she was only 3 to 4 weeks old according to the vet..she travels the country with me..Angel is nearly 4 years old..

  2. I have a blue heeler and She’s the most intelligent dog I’ve ever had. We’re constantly trying to come up with new things to teach her. We also get her energy out with daily frisbee throws in the yard.

  3. My constant loyal companion, Rocky, is a 6 month old Blue Heeler. A very smart and high energy dog. Stubborn at times, but can be redirected fairly easy. Rocky goes everywhere with me as a companion dog. He helps to keep me active and surely makes me smile. Rocky seems really to love people. Everyone he meets is pure joy and they love him. We have socialized with people and dogs every since we got him. He is being raised around my granddaughters and visits with my grandsons. The only issues have been a combination of child/puppy mistakes, jumping, startled and excitement generally. Rocky is truly a part of the family and we love him dearly.

  4. I have a red one named Bailey , he's the love of my life but stubborn and a little bark ! He loves the rain and to play with his Frisbee or play in his pool .

  5. My free thinking boy yells at his frisbee as its a rotten bas***d & god help the stranger that may walk by… or bicycle.
He had a horrible vet & I almost lost him 5 years ago. Today he is on several meds one for lyme. He is as stubborn as ever. With lyme he is partially lame….slows him down some but he doesnt let anything stop him. Hard to think of my life without my boy. He'll be 13 in july.
Tip to all ACD owners….pay attention to their ears.

  6. Our ACD, Sierra, passed away recently. She adopted my wife and I when we were passing by Lake Tahoe. She was wandering on the road. When I pulled over, she came over, let me pet her, and jumped through the driver's side window without touching me, and got in the back seat and just stared straight ahead avoiding eye contact. Best dog we've ever had. We are going to get another after this virus stuff is settled

  7. Love our Blue Heeler Zoe. She's definitely the smartest of our three dogs and the most active as well. She follows me everywhere as I'm the velcro family member.

  8. We just got one of these little guys sunday … it's amazing how quickly he settled into our home , at only 7 weeks old you would think he has lived here for ever

  9. I'm an Aussie, but one familiar with the "outback" more than most Aussies and these dogs are frankly legendary from our pioneer age. They were loyal to the extent i
t was not unusual to find them dead beside their owners, sometimes from injuries inflicted defending him. Other times they'd actually feed injured/incapacitated owners long enough to be found and saved. They were often quite efficient snake killers due to their method of attack where they very quickly launch, bite, tear, release or flick in the case of a snake, and retreat to start the whole process over again, quite a useful trait when you consider some of the very nasty snake breeds down here. The same method of biting/heeling also gave them the ''don't argue" edge with wild cattle, as well as the natural tendency to duck just after heeling a beast as the kick went harmlessly over their heads. Funnily enough, some of them turn out to be headers (as in they go for the nose of a beast to stop it moving anywhere), they were used at night to hold herds of cattle in the one place. They have actually been "de-tuned" to a certain extent over the years as with modern working of cows they were too rough, and they have also let a bit of the stamina go as being able to drive cattle over dry harsh country for hundreds of miles, is no longer required these days either.

  10. How are these dogs in term of allergies and shedding? my family has a black lab mix and an English Shephard now. The lab is no good for me but the ES doesn't give me any issues.

  11. My ol blue babe used pull snakes by the tail then straight to the back of the neck to head shake so violent the snake's head would fly off no bs..browns and red belly's

  12. I grew up with a red heeler female and I now currently call a Blue heeler male my son, as I am legally blind and now have epilepsy from an accident I incurred back in 2018 he is now trained as a service animal even though I got him in 2013. Highly intelligent highly trainable very family oriented and eager to please dog breed. I don't know how I could have gotten through my depression without him.
