Staffordshire Bull Terriers make amazing companions, and the pros definitely outweigh the cons. But Staffies come with some problems that you should be aware of.
Staffies love to chew, dig, and cause chaos in your home if you’re not careful and don’t provide them with everything they need.
However it is simple to provide your Staffy with things such as chew toys, taking them for regular exercise and keeping an eye on them when they’re in the garden. 🦴

I have three staffy x mastiff. mum and two sons. the problems I have are mainly barking and teaching my female (mum) to not hurt her puppies as she has hurt them a few times as I had to intervene.
they also hate bridges, never seen a staff not almost collapse while crossing
Staffies are so so amazing. Love them
My Staffy eats poop and likes to destroy the newspaper that a lay for peeing. He is almost 4 month old.
Doesn't sound at all like my staffy. She is the calmest, but still playful, most loving, quiet and we'll behaved dog. With enough focus on the right training right from the beginning you'll have the best dog.
i watch my staffi trying to dig she yet to get threw the sofa but one day she might.
I find my staffing when let out in the garden he tends to take chunks of grass down to the mud and leave lots of holes, can anyone tell me why he does this.
Digging, escaping, the need to kill little animals like birds squirrels chickens. My staffy was a rescue she was about 5 months old they found her half beaten to death with a broken femur they were going to take her leg but then they were going to euthanize her instead saves money I guess. So I adopted her to save her life. She got to keep her leg and the little trooper you would never know she broke her femur but she has a lot of bad habits that we're dealing with.
My Staffy is a pure breed and it comes from a good kennel, gold medalists and all that . But he is very aggressive towards everything, he wants to bite people kids anything with one exemption, white women he will never go for. He is a family dog, my daughters brother but outside with Muslim clothing he’s getting mad. What should I do?
Hi, I am here hoping someone who can answer this question?
I have an 18month make staffy (not neutered)…..he has been acting a little strange….with him 24/7 he is a very social friendly dog. however. I live across the road to out park..little if not zero traffic….I took him to the park – Bodhi was playing with another dog..saw another dog went to play with this dog…Then he just took himself home?….This is the 4th time Bodhi has just left out walk (when happy smelling ect)..then takes himself home?…can anyone help me? thank you
my staff destroyed all the toys my mum buys
Owner for 50+ years.
All agreed with.
Big softy's with teeth. 😅
Love my staffy ! Got a fun video of him on my channel in my shorts
There's a dog called a shit-woo ??? Hahaha wtf 🤣
My is named Bindi and our problem is pulling on the lead and hates girl dogs and boy dogs their is only one dog my dog is friendly to is gorge a boxer
After resolving many issues with our rescue, such as on lead reactive and nervousness i’m left with a problem that has caught me by surprise and that is her stubbornness. If she wants to walk in a certain direction maybe different from where you intend to go she stops dead and is difficult to move on.
My staffy's main issue isn't chewing, but instead eating! She will chew anything she gets close to, and doesn't stop until that butchered squeaker ball in digesting. She chews rubber, wood, aluminium cans. It's endless. We buy her a ton of toys but they are never enough. Don't know what to do and don't want this to end up being an expensive vet bill.
Our only issues with our little princess are the pulling and jumping! 😅😩 she’s over 2 years old now and she still doesn’t get it! Oh well… better than a destructive and aggro one I suppose.
I have a staffie/boxer mix. He only barks when he hears an odd noise outside or when the mailman delivers. We did break his digging habit and wasn't difficult. The walking tips are spot on.
Are there any staffy breeders in the U.S?
My mother once bought my first staffy a dog toy made out of Kevlar. She still managed to rip the thing to Pieces inside of four days. Fortunately she never chewed anything she wasn't supposed to but man did she loved tearing things apart. Playing with tennis balls at one point or another she would always stop and you would just see her Jaws tightening up and pop. So I had to buy a lot of tennis balls since fetch was her favorite thing.
I've had two female staffies and with the exception of chewing toys to pieces I have never encountered a single one of these problems.
I have six Staffy and All of them are cute.
And I have one American stuffy, and five blue English stuffys
Hi I acquired a staffy 3 months ago he is 6 months now, I learned he was taken from his mother at 6 weeks, so is there gonna be issues and what can I do for Blu, to help him to know right from wrong? Please help
Lol so does mine I've stopped shouting cos all she does is bark back at me lol but I tried other teqniques like locking her in a room on her own as she hated it it worked very well
The best thing to do with any staffy is to socialize them as much as possible
Word of advice pulling on lead just let them off I know everyone literally everyone says this is a bad idea if you have a good bond with your dog and your staffy listens I can be walking up the street and there could be an other dog on the other side the second I say stay she stops in her tracks she even stops every so often to make sure I'm behind her
Trust that trust you give them goes a long way but I highly recommend you build. A good bond and communication with your dog before trying this if you let your staffy dominate you do not try this
Staffies are also very intelligent I knew I had hard work on my hands when I first got her she's was only about 5 weeks at the time which was my dad's fault
At around 9 10 weeks we had the puppy pads and everytime she done the toilet on the pad she got a treat 😂😂 took her like 2 days to click on to this she eventually just started pretending to pee on the mat and look back as if to say where's my treat 😂😂
I only ask her for for a paw and stuff when giving her a treat
But what makes her really smart she literally understands nearly everything you're saying lol
She follows full sentences rather than one word commands for example
I go what do you do she sits
I go high five and she gives me a paw then an other one
Then go what do you say ( or say please)
And she will bark or groan lol
I also walk her off lead and she sits or stays at nearly every road untill I tell her to move
I highly discourage you need to have a good bond and good communication with your staffy
But if you think you have what it takes try parks and stuff first
And also bear in mind I've spent every waking moment with Skye so our bond is really strong
You've just got to be patient but persistent they will try to dominate you
An other word of advice if you have a staffy pup or thinking about getting one don't make the same mistake as me
And let sleep beside you once they are used of it it's almost impossible to break as they want to be close as possible all the time
When we go work for 2 hours my staff barks she doesnt like it at all, and then she pee or shit in the crate what piss me off when she does but still love her😊
My staffybull only did those things as a puppy. They need to run around the yard every day. Mine could sleep all day, especially when it is lousy outside.
