Had both definitely prefer the Doberman
Rottie to protect property, Dobie to protect a specific person. Both are awesome.
Both. Hear me out. I have a huge property. The two Dobermans were my QRF. They could sense the danger. Get there fast. Stop and trespasser before they could get to a spot of any real danger. My Rottweiler was my heavy armor. When she arrived. You weren’t shrugging her off.
Doberman = light tank
Quick. Agile. Fast response. Recon.
Rottweiler = heavy tank
Slower. Stronger. Heavy hitter.

Both are great! So hard to find good stable lines in the US. Currently have two working line GSDs, one e. German and a Czech female. Most rotties and dobs are friendly loving dogs with their family.
Neither the Rottie would cost too much to feed and the Dobie has too much energy for me, and would probably be expensive to feed, that energy needs fuel. If someone could breed a smaller Rottie with the same personality I'd go for that 100%.

Both. I have both as puppies. Got them from two separate breeders and took the time to find two who where selling puppies in the same month. Got them both in the same month at 8 weeks old.
