Correction – the most expensive Tibetan mastiff sold for over a million. Most of them go for 2-6k,which still isn't cheap, but isn't egregious.

From what I heard, these dogs are also known for their ferocity. Without sufficient training they can also be dangerous. There have been a lot of incidents in the past where some owners are hurt or even killed.

information, the tibetanmastiff are called
Zang'ao(藏獒)in Chinese,and I've seen one or two up close (caged) when I was little. I didn't look it up specifically, but it's common sense to everyone that they're among the "much wilder"dog breeds. It seems you need a license to have one, and it's forbidden to simply walk them on the streets. About the incidents, I saw them on the news.
You can get these beautiful dogs, purebred in Canada for around $4,000 – not millions. Maybe one sold for that much but that was a very rare instance.
