I grew up with boxers and they are awesome family dogs. However, they do like to use their paws and can scratch someone accidentally. Other than that, they are so loving and gentle with kids.
I had two Boxers – brothers from the same litter. They were funny and always mirrored each other. Their bond was amazing, but their bond with me was even more amazing. I took them to my friend's house who was dying from cancer. As soon as we walked in, they ran and jumped on his bed. I snapped at them to get down, but my friend said, No, they're okay. I told him I didn't want them to take his oxygen out of his nose — he pulled it out. They were so gentle and sweet to him. Every moment we were they they paid attention only to him. My friend said he would get them water, and I offered, but he said, NO, let him do it. So, I did. He brought them water and got down on the floor with them while they drank, and I cried because it wasn't just sweet. It felt spiritual. I quickly wiped my eyes so my friend wouldn't see. When I had a lung issue, I would cough and pass out, they were very gentle and walked slowly when we went out, they would stop when I would ask them to. One time I thought I better sit down on the steps of an apt. building. Next thing I remember I was being held up by them and they were licking my face. We fell asleep on a pile of laundry on the floor, but I woke up coughing, and Tracker put his paw on the center of my back until I stopped coughing, and he kept watching me after I laid down and closed my eyes. Boxers are very special. Tracker used to tell me to go to bed if I was on the computer late. lol.
Boxers are undoubtedly the best dog to have with infants & children. Had one with both my kids and they were so gentles and tolerant, even with little fingers in their eyes, ears or mouth.
I was born into a home with four large dogs. Apparently when mum tried the blanket thing, one of the dogs started drooling, and my mum was worried that meant the dog wanted to eat me?? 😂
Omg they LOVE Avery!!! She's gonna be so well protected as she grows up and will be so fortunate to experience a love like none other from such an early age❤❤❤
She is already a part of the Pack and somehow our fur-babies understand this. A kind animal in your home is one of the first lessons your child will learn in empathy. Very important ❤
When I was a kid I was best friends with a black lab named Shadow. I’ll never forget that dog. Also all my dogs growing up. They play such a major role in your life. In my opinion every child should have a dog, or an animal and be taught to be kind to them.
Animals understand who babies are, they also have babies and have been babies. I am always amused by people who grossly underestimate the intelligence and compassion that animals are capable of.
She's right to careful with those dogs. Boxers can be fun and sweet, but they were still bred for violence. A little kid got killed by two boxers in the town over from me.
They had littermate syndrome, which apparently sometimes happens when two dogs grow up together from the time they're puppies and can make them even more dangerous.

I was raised with my grandmother’s boxer; ruined me for life for any other breed of dog! He protected me from everything, most notably my father.

Very sensible Mummy as even the most laid back dogs cannot act the same as humans around children so never leaving them alone with her is good .
