Dog Leads Police to Leash During Aurora Illinois House Fire Rescue
Aurora Police Officers Michael Ely and Jacob Leonard responded to a reported house fire in Aurora, Illinois, and found Oakley, an American Staffordshire terrier, waiting in a smoke-filled room.
Instead of running away, Oakley calmly led officers straight to his leash — waiting patiently to be clipped in before heading outside to safety. Body camera footage captured the incredible moment.
Oakley has since been reunited with his family, who thanked first responders for saving their beloved pup. They say Oakley enjoys snuggling, peanut butter, and snoring louder than most humans.

I appreciate the officer for following the dog. Sweet baby knew he needed his leash to go outside 🥹
Awww he was trained to not leave the house except on a leash. So glad the police officer didn't give up.
Oakley and the officer were both good boys.
Ich fühlte jede Sekunde dieses Videos. Kein Bot
He didn't want to get lost outside in all the chaos.
Thank you so much to the police officer who saved him and to the fire fighters who saved the house !
