I’m Miruna, Westie mom to Sami (aka Sami the Westie), my soul dog. From Instagram to YouTube and now this podcast, our community has grown into the biggest group of Westie parents in the world – and this podcast is where we take those conversations deeper. ❤️
Each week, I’ll share stories from my life with Sami: the funny quirks (like chasing pigeons and stubborn “westitude”), the challenges and health issues, and the heartwarming moments that make being a Westie parent so special. Sometimes it’ll be just me and Sami, other times I’ll sit down with fellow Westie moms and dads from around the world to talk about what it’s really like raising these little characters.

Had your westie had any tremors..mine has alot of tremors ..the doctors see nothing wrong in blood work.
Talk about testing od brain to see about tremors..which cost thousand dollars can get into alot of money..

I have enjoyed watching you and Sami for the last 3-4 years. I’ve been a Westie parent since 2007 when we got our first Duncan. He was with us for 15 years and he was my soulmate like Sami is yours. We got his playmate Bella in 2009 and she was with us until last April. We now have two more Phoebe Skye who is two and Finn McCool who is 10 months. I’m so excited for your podcast to hear all the things you have experienced with Sami. Phoebe and Finn will watch him too. Westies are one of the most fun breeds we’ve ever had. You are right they are smart, tenacious, stubborn, moody with tons of westietude and loving as can be. I know they absolutely understand what I say and they talk back in their own way. We live in the Eastern US in North Carolina so ours play in our fenced backyard every chance they get and they have me up and down all day wanting in and out. I love watching your travels with Sami and how good he is on the plane. It surprised me that he doesn’t like the water because ours have always loved to swim. They are all so much alike, but so different too. Good luck with the podcast and we will be watching.
I absolutely love your show. I brought home my first westie baby 2 years ago, Bowie, and a year later my breeder decided to get out of the business and gave me Bowies mom, Daisy. Now I have my two babies and I cannot imagine life without them. Bowie is so much like Sami, but Daisy is her own lady. I heard boys and girls are quite different and that's is true. Bowie talks to me in his chewybaca voice all day when he thinks I should be doing something for him, which is all the time. LO)
Just listened to your new podcast over on Spotify & absolutely loved it. Because of you, our 2 Westies have complete summer and winter wardrobes, including shoes! They even have some of the same clothes! Our 2 girls are the same age as Samie, there are 3rd and 4th Westies, so we have lots of experience with them. And yes, as we got older they have become our children for sure. Once kids move away, the dogs are all we have left. The Westie attitude is in all Westies, something would be wrong without it! That’s what we all love about them. They require a lot of patience, but it gets to the point where all you can do is laugh at what they do, instead of getting frustrated.

Love the podcast. Everything you talk is so true. I had two Westie they have passed away. Got them a year apart and they passed away a year apart. That was a lot of fun having two.
Now I Have Molly she is six and a bundle of joy and my soul dog and just like my other westies. I only want westies. I have westie fever.

Hello from Australia!! Keep it up Miruna..love it! My westie carries his own toys home from the pet shop. People think he is adorable! Sami and my dog have sooo much in common from the sounds of it. My dog has exactly the same mannerisms! Tough and strong little dogs! Should come to Australia! I live not far from the Gold Coast! I would like to know more about travel. Australia is about to launch dogs travelling in the cabin on Virgin Australia very very soon. What carrier do you find the best?
My Sugar always responded to the word horses, and Scooby snack. She did the same thing as Sami. Very attentive, and she would watch TV. The flies! Oh my she would go bonkers chasing them. She hated squirrels too. Such good memories!

It’s not always easy tuning in because my girl passed May 2024 after 15.5 years. I miss her everyday. She was/is my Soul dog for sure!

Awesome! You need a podcast. You are the reason we got Fiona. I watched your video on westie traits and we went for it. Fiona just turned 2 on the 29th of August. Keep giving us the great info. I have really loved when you and Bobby are on together too. Hi to Bobby and that handsome Sami as well. Congrats on getting married you two. I just noticed you stopped saying boyfriend one day.
