  1. There is no dark side. They don't live a long life but, they love fiercely. The only reason they are no longer used in Police work, is because they have a hard time adapting to other owners. Once they bond to you, it is for life. Please, never get a doberman and then decide you don't want it.

  2. I rescued mine 1 year ago from the humane society and he had no training whatsoever before I got him. He thinks everyone is his best friend but we can't get him to stop jumping up on people and accidentally scratching them. At 75+ pounds, it can get dangerous but idk how to get him to stop.

  3. How would you like it if someone cut your ears and then taped them up because you just thought they should be 'pointy'. Maybe you shouldn't own a dog.

  4. I want a doberman so bad. I used to have a Siberian husky & he was super smart. Dobermans seem like they'd be a smart dog as well. I have to have a large, smart dog.

  5. I miss Rocky he was 10 when i had to put him down i was devastated. When my girls were young 5 and 6 years old they would be playing in our yard and he would never leave their side always scanning for threats. Nobody dared come in the yard except the UPS guy who started giving him milk bones when he was a puppy so he loved him, whenever he saw a UPS truck he went wild with excitement! Dobermans are really the Cadillacs of dogs

  6. My beautiful young dobie girl, sort of thrust upon me, is thermonuclear powered, broadly intelligent, challenging, and elegant, despite being arguably crazy, and I love her thoroughly. I am not sure if she would be protective, as I am…

  7. When we still had house phones but the cordless ones our Roxy would answer it when it rang. People would just hear panting. Oh I miss her. And Zack.❤❤❤

  8. This dog is the one to have. Fast learner, always on guard My daughter had a very imposing Airedale and that dog would follower wherever she went, from room to room. She sat on the couch with her boyfriend. The boyfriend leaned over to my daughter, and with in a second the dog was on him with his head in the dog's mouth. Dog's know, he didn't bite down on him, just a holding position. I saw it, I pulled the dog off him. Any way, actions like that should only be given by command.

  9. One unusual thing my doberman did… he used to jump the fence to crap in the neighbour's yard 😂 when they finally raised the fence high enough to stop him, he picked a spot at the very corner of the yard and made that his toilet. Apollo was the best dog 😂❤

  10. i have a chocolate doberman named chopper and the level of protection they have is crazy like i trained him to be a family pet but he knows when to be on guard at the right time always

  11. I have a Staffordshire terrier. She looks more like a pitbull. She is on guard. Can’t even walk by my house without her barking at people she does not trust anyone.

  12. Did you know the reason why Dobermans can kill someone in like assuming that in seconds or something is because they bite people in the neck like they go for the neck first

  13. They try to take the blame when the cat barfs on the carpet or leaves a fresh mouse in the bathtub, even if you tell them it’s not their fault

  14. Ive always had Rottweilers and they are super Sweet. Now my Doberman Thor is incredibly Sweet and he loves to bark louder and bigger than any dog. He is the kindest Sweetheart ever ❤ i love him so much and wouldn't let anyone touch him 💗 ❤ 💙 💙 💜 💛 😊♥️

  15. Mine whines, sucks his toys, sheds little black hairs everywhere and scoots his 105 lb body as close to us he can get. He snuffles under the warm blankets to be close to us and acts vicious through the window of anyone who approaches our home. He’s perfect.

  16. No blanket or sock is safe. And unless you’re a very active person who will commit to off leash training your dog you’ll probably have a bad time. These are not couch potatoes.

  17. We just re-homed a 5 year old Doberman. We are golden retriever Labrador dog owners. I’ve had to up my brain neurons. He’s adorable, sweet, kind – who knew! We joined agility training yesterday and I was late – everyone was staring in shock. Don’t worry I said, he’s really a golden retriever in a Doberman coat. Everyone laughed. And he is. It took 4 months but I believe he now truly feels he lives totally with and for us.
