  1. Our dobie is the sweetest and can be the gentlest of dogs until he doesn't need to be and then he can be fierce. We have witnessed him putting himself between us and another dog that was being aggressive.

  2. From Beaver Falls, PA. Absolutely right on bite strength- my Dob Cersei destroys ALL toys (except Kong balls) with bite and chewing- but I still love her energy and determination she steals her brother (Kemosabei's) toys and shows what he is capable of and at the same time show affection. Thank you for all your GREAT videos and showing my neighbors the love and affection doberman's have.

  3. The are so strong, fast, smart, but still sweet for his family. A doberMAN can suprise everyone 😊. The Dobermann is the best breed ever 🐾🐾🐾. Thans John for te interesting video. Grt from Belgium from Maja and Finn the Dobermann 🐾🐾💚

  4. I've felt accidental bites by my Dobies while playing tug of war and I yelp and get a little watery eyed….lol. I cannot imagine the pain if my Dobies were serious. I think I understand why I get those accidental bites now. What happens is they don't have that pitty bite they have that multiple bite series as you mentioned. Which I am never prepared for no matter how much I try. Very fast. Oh, when I yelp I see they look at me to see if I'm okay. Sweetest ever.

  5. I switched to training tennis balls to throw for my dobe, Alias. He would regularly crush regular tennis balls…I think he thought of it as fun!

  6. Ower secon dodie name was Terra we lived in a neighborhood with some a lot of shady people we had a 3ft fince in the front and some the people would who by she would run from one end to the other like a bullet then she would spin on a dime along the fence where the people where at grab the fence just in front of where they were walking she would pull it back several inches back and when the person got to where she would let go of the fence it make a loud snap and the person would jump then she would start the whole thing over as long as they were in front we never had to much trouble with them because they all thought she was crazy she was one of the best dogs we ever had

  7. My Doberman's intelligence was off the charts!!! He was so good, all the rest of dogs piss me off LOL!!! He passed in 2009 and I can't bring myself to get another dog yet…I miss him so much💙🐶💔

  8. If you go back to the Show Fear Factor, one of the challenges was wearing an attack suit and getting thru a maze in a house past several dogs, there was all types of dogs, but every time the Doberman would get a hold of their butt and not let go, he had a hold on them none of the other dogs came close to!!! 💪🏻✨️🐶

  9. PSI is not actually the proper unit to measure bite FORCE. That unit is actually N, Newtons. Almost everything you see online about dog bite force is misinformation. That's not hyperbolic, almost ALL of it is. There are only a couple of studies you could find on this from a google search that were committed with at least an attempt at accuracy and integrity, but anything really legitimate is going to be given in N. Most of them are conducted on dog remains, not living dogs. There was a single study of living dogs that measured and compared between dog breeds last time I checked. The results are given in N, not PSI. But you deserve insane props for dumping out the insane 600 psi number, because every protection dog community wants to pretend its dogs have insane bites, and many people parrot absurd claims without bothering to verify them.

  10. well there are many tubes that show a pit bull, Rottweiler and many other dogs bite is so much more powerful than a dobie.i think the longer muzzled dogs have a bite that is more powerful

  11. Oh my gosh, the way you segue into that murder, I thought you meant the Dobermans attacked the trainer 😢 I was a bit confused for a sec. But then I looked up the actual article

  12. Thank you so much for expressing the need to train your Doberman. I had mine trained except for one of them. All 3 are the best dogs I have ever had. IT IS ESSENTIAL TO HAVE YOUR DOBERMAN TRAINED IN AT LEAST OBEDIENCE TRAINING.

  13. John, when I was a little boy, I jumped on my mother and started to tickle her. My red girl Dobie "protected" my mom from me and bit my butt. Literally. I have been on the bad end of my Dobie's mouth so I believe in 305 PSI. 😆🤣😂🙋🏻‍♂️

  14. The doberman is an awesome dog, but it's nothing special when it comes to bite force. Any mastiff breed is more powerful, and many by a very large margin (my Cane Corsi are laughing at this for example). Tout the doberman's intelligence, its speed, etc. not this.

  15. I have a Turkish Kangal dog, she has a bite force around 740 psi 😀. Great herding breed with the strongest force. Natural breed with a long history so healtier than others that are created by humans. Considering its size, very agile and has a good life span. There are a lot of other great things about them.

  16. I have 2 Dobermans and they are crossed with a Great Pyrenees and have a weight of 175 lbs. I don’t know how you measure it but it would be interesting to know how much power they have. I have tracked them over 40 mph in the car.

  17. The only thing that could last more than 10 mn with my 2 Dobies was large raw bones. 😁 Some specialist say that PSI is the same whatever the breed. Which I doubt, eventhough some small breeds can also have a very powerful bite. I think that one of the major difference is the dog’s intention and temperament. Dobermans are the sweetest dogs but when they décide to protect, it is another thing.

  18. G’day from Oz…I have had the great pleasure of having two Dobes in my lifetime. I always knew about the incredible bite pressure of the breed but I am incredulous of the bite pressure of the Tasmanian Devil. The Tassie Devil is about one third of the size of a Dobe but has an incredible 1200psi bite pressure…great for crunching bones. Thanks again for your videos.

  19. Great Video J.
I love answering questions about the “bite”. So I’ll give a raw chicken 1/4 to the Dobie and let her crunch and then state that noise of bones breaking could be your arm. 🤠
Please behave while you’re visiting 😂

  20. My first Doberman used to teeth on cement garden sculptures. He chewed up about 4 or 5 of them before we caught him and move them all to the front yard!

  21. I’ve always admired Dobermans for their loyalty and sharp instincts, truly an incredible breed. That said, I’ve come to understand they can be pretty attached to their owners and may not thrive when left alone for long stretches, especially on a farm. I’m looking for a guard dog that’s a bit more independent and can confidently handle solo time while still keeping the farm property secure. Got any recommendations that fit that kind of setup?

  22. My girl Kajun is everything and then some. Still working on reactivity, but improving… she is not allowed tennis balls, because she destroys them. Chomp, done. She destroys other toys as well, that one would think would stand up to her more…but fail. The silicone toys that hide food in em, are the ONLY thing she has not damaged. Yet, for all that bite power, she is incredibly knowing on how to be gentle with other dogs and people, and she has a very soft mouth.

  23. Got a Euro Dobie and a Corso… My Dobies chew toy at the farm is a coconut husk (300 psi), while my Corso are hollow blocks (700 psi)🤣 Both are beautiful and workable breeds. I see their purpose guarding my farm as an Assault Rifle (Dobie) and a Grenade (Corso)

  24. I'll bite. My girl's bit through a braided leash in two chews, max life expectancy of a tennis ball is five retrieves. She's popped them like a chewing gum bubble in her mouth.. (Squeak balls last longer Either the squeaker blows out or the ball seams fail)

  25. Very good episode but a common mistake made here, adult Lion has about the same bite as an adult Tiger which is around 1150 to 1250 psi, the 650 Lion psi was a young one and was explained numerous time.

  26. Let me tell you my story with my Dobie Maggie. Maggie was sharp … spicy as it can get as a youngster. She shredded allot of toys back then. I did not bother to buy any new ones, I made them myself out of wood, leather …. But as I run into severe health problems myself, she calmed down instantly, took over and … kind of watched over me (it's hard to explain). There she was, a fearless watch and guard dog, very dominant and protective Used to rough play became a soft quiet companion. She waited two/three years til I got better and recovered. It is unbelievable how a Dobie get in tune with his owner.

  27. A lot Of People Misunderstand Dobermans They Think Their Aggressive Evil And Rude Their Used In Movies Either Helping The Villain Or Being The Villain And Its Not Right But You Don't You Saw Through Them And I'm Truly Thankful For That

  29. My girl has super strong strength All around lol. Tug lately has been a challenge for me do to her dragging me around the house 😅 and I'm 190 lbs. It's literally all I can do to hold on when we're playing. But I wouldn't trade her for all the gold in the world.

  30. I have to share this with you, I have owned both European as well as an American Doberman, I can’t tell you how many different people have said to me, don’t you know Dobermans go insane when they get older because their brains out grow their skulls 😳. Really it blows my mind people believe this 🤦🏾‍♀️
Also just a toy tip for other owners, I have been buying toys Zeke my European Doberman can’t tear up! Petsmart is carrying kevlar toys 💕.

  31. Amazing, I always wanted a dobie but my parents say they’re aggressive. When in twelve years labradors killed more people than the dobie.
I even chose a name for my dobie, I would call her Blade or Fang, if I could. I would like an american/european hybrid, cause they have better chances for living longer
