I’m a long time dog owner and what irritates me the most is when irresponsible dog owners who know their dog is not properly socialized are always the ones giving the leash that much extra slack, giving them the opportunity to potentially bite someone or another dog. And be the first ones claiming “oh, he won’t bite, he’s friendly.”
I think people need to keep their untrained dogs on a leash in public places…. A neighbor guy got attacked & had to go to the hospital. Another neighbor’s dog attacked another neighbor & his dog. His dog had a bad case of PTSD & it changed his personality after that. I’ve always had my untrained dog on a leash outside since I got her, for her own protection. I wouldn’t want her to run across the parking lot & get hit & if a stray dog runs at her I can grab her… which I’ve had to do.
When walking our dogs, and we see other dogs approaching, shorten the leash. I do not understand people like this. You can't tell me they didn't know their dog was gonna do that.
